Chapter 637 Didn't Deserve

Natalie blinked, asking, "Is it 'cause of me?"

Her eyes were all wide and innocent.

Samuel was stumped for a sec. He grinned. "I think you're gonna be a popular actress."

Natalie shrugged. "I'm just getting started, but I'll keep grinding."

Hanging with Samuel felt easy for Natalie; no weird vibes or awkward silences. Even when their conversation just came to a silence, Samuel always found something cool to chat about.

After they finished eating, they shot the breeze about the script for a bit.

Natalie was stoked to be part of the crew and busted her butt, practicing her lines on the down-low. She used to mumble a lot, but she was getting better.

Samuel gave her some tips on pronunciation. Hearing his smooth delivery, Natalie realized just how much she had to learn.

Samuel's voice was deep, his words clear, fitting the character perfectly and packed with emotion.

It was almost midnight when the driver dropped them off at the hotel. They were crashing at the same place.

That night, after a shower, Natalie flopped onto her bed and pulled out her phone. She peeked at Adrian's Facebook. His profile pic was just some English letter on a black background, all cold and distant, just like him. Natalie bit her lip. Ever since that day on the yacht when Adrian told her to cancel the press conference, she felt like her heart had hit rock bottom.

She kept asking herself why she was even doing this.

Many nights, she tossed and turned, trying to figure it out. Why was life so unfair? Why was it so harsh just to her?

Adrian helped Alice. Rosalie was Alice's real mom. Curtis and Avery also spoiled Alice.

It all felt like a bad dream. Natalie wished it would end soon.

Maybe these two months in Vilniusky would give her some peace and freedom.

Without all the emotional baggage, Natalie felt like a free bird.

That night, she had a dream, a sweet one.

In the dream, she was eleven, the day Rosalie brought her home.

Stanley got a cake with a pink princess design on it.

Ryan bought her a pretty pink dress, and Natalie put on a tiara. Rosalie and Stanley were all smiles. Stanley held her and said she was the family's little princess. Rosalie kissed her. That day was the happiest for Natalie. A family of four, happy and content.

When she woke up in the morning, her pillow was wet. She sat up, grabbed her phone, and sent $300,000 to Heather, telling her to use it for Rosalie's treatment. But she also told Heather not to contact her anymore, even if Rosalie died.

She was done with this family love. From now on, they were strangers.

Natalie wasn't gonna tell Avery and Curtis that she was their daughter because it felt like an insult to her.

She didn't want Avery to be her mom.

Natalie was ready to let it all go and let them focus on Alice. She didn't want anything from them. She felt nothing but disdain and disgust. She didn't think Avery and Curtis deserved to be her parents.
