Chapter 950 I Don't Lack These Resources
Natalie didn't let Derek spill the beans to Adrian about this whole mess. She was only back for a couple of days and was leaving this afternoon. No need to get Adrian all worked up.
During the day, Derek had someone dig into Bella's whereabouts while Natalie headed to the police station.
The cops said they got a distress call from Bella, but when they checked out Renaissance Grove Villas, they found nothing fishy. Thought it was just a prank.
They tried to trace the call but came up empty, like something was messing with the signal.
The police asked, "What's your relationship with Bella Swan?"
"Bella's a friend. On the morning of the 16th, around 9 AM, she called me, freaking out, saying Nicholas was holding her at Renaissance Grove Villas. She wanted me to come rescue her." Natalie found out Bella had also called the cops after talking to her.
At that time, Bella must've had her phone. Now, she probably couldn't get to any communication devices.
"I heard Bella myself, saying she was being held by Nicholas at Renaissance Grove Villas. Now she's missing, and I can't reach her." Natalie added.
In the morning, Natalie went back to Renaissance Grove Villas with the police.
This time, the place was locked up tight, and even the servants were gone.
They asked the security and checked the surveillance footage, which showed the servants leaving the night before.
When they checked the footage from the day before, they saw Nicholas driving over at night, but then the footage cut off.
Natalie figured Nicholas had messed with the surveillance, so she headed to his workplace.
Nicholas, in a white shirt, grinned slyly, "I don't know where Bella is. Last time I saw her was on the 15th. She got in my car, we chatted about Austin's illness, and then she got out at the intersection."
Natalie smirked, "That's rich. You saw her on the 15th, and she vanished on the 16th. Mr. Reynolds, who’s gonna buy that this has nothing to do with you?"
Nicholas shrugged. "Ms. Teeger, if you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do."
Natalie pressed her lips together, eyes locked on Nicholas. He just kept smiling. Ever since Natalie showed up, Cassidy's people had been watching their every move from outside.
Cassidy really had Nicholas under a microscope.
Nicholas clenched his fist. "Ms. Teeger, you're with Dynamic Entertainment. If you're not happy there, come to me. I can hook you up with better gigs. You can pick any project I have."
Nicholas dangled a tempting offer.
Natalie just sneered, "I don't need your gigs."
"I've seen your movie. I think you've got real potential." Nicholas had watched "The Nameless Road." Even though his company was crawling with Cassidy's people, it was the last thing Brandon had left him.
"I'm not here to talk shop, Mr. Reynolds. Where's Bella?"
"Since Bella's missing, why are you grilling me? Think I took her? You're her good friend. Bella's Austin's wife. She's missing, so I should be asking you. Did she bail because she couldn't handle Austin's condition, and you're helping her hide and pointing fingers at me?" Nicholas shot back.
