Chapter 1153 The Future Scenery Will Be Beautiful
The owner's wife came over with a tray of appetizers and beer.
Natalie lent a hand and took the appetizers down.
The owner's wife said, "These appetizers are also our signature dishes. Many people come here just to take them to go."
"Then I must try them." Natalie said, picking up a piece and putting it in her mouth. The taste was indeed extremely refreshing, with a slight hint of spiciness.
Heather nodded. "It's really good. I want to take some to go as well."
"Sure, no problem," the owner's wife said, seemingly a bit nervous as she kept wiping her hands on her apron. "Ms teeger, my daughter is a fan of yours. I never thought you'd come to my restaurant. Could you sign an autograph for her?"
Natalie nodded and took the notebook the owner's wife handed over, signing her name on the first page.
The owner's wife said, "My daughter is in high school and is about to take her college entrance exams. Her room is full of your posters. Could you write something encouraging for her, like wishing her good luck with her studies and exams?"
Natalie smiled and wrote a line in the notebook: [The future scenery will be beautiful.]
The owner's wife kept thanking Natalie profusely while holding the notebook.
Soon, Derek arrived, and by then, the barbecue was also ready.
The owner's wife had specially prepared three different levels of spiciness for the barbecue.
Derek took a bottle of beer and had a sip. "The owner of this place is an old friend of mine from the military. The food here is pretty good; you should try it."
Natalie tried it and found the taste surprisingly good, not too strong or overwhelming, and the spiciness was moderate. Even someone who didn't like spicy food, like her, could handle it.
"This secret barbecue sauce is really good. It makes me want to steal the recipe and open my own place. Derek, go ask the owner's wife if we can open a branch." Heather said, praising the food as she ate.
"Heather, your business mind is always at work, isn't it? I remember the last time you were in York City, you said a coffee shop's freshly brewed coffee was so good that you wanted to open one in Vachilit." Derek said, starting to banter with Heather.
Both of them weren't naturally outgoing but had become quite familiar with each other over time.
Heather replied, "I almost forgot about that. I really do have that idea. Natalie even said she could invest in me. How about Natalie investing in my coffee shop, and you investing in my barbecue place. It's a win-win!"
Derek laughed and started to play poor, "Heather, I don't have a penny to my name."
Heather ate a skewer of meat. "You're about to become Mr. Rivera of Elysian Fields Nightclub. I'll have to rely on you."
Natalie couldn't help but join in the banter, "When Elysian Fields Nightclub opens, Heather, I'll reserve a private room just for you; it'll be your exclusive spot."
"Really? That's great! I'll cancel my current lease right away and live at Elysian Fields Nightclub day and night. I'll work at Dynamic Entertainment during the day and at Elysian Fields Nightclub at night!" Heather said.
