Chapter 374 Initiative

Natalie bit her lip hard, snapping out of it only when she felt pain and heard the employee calling her.

"Thanks," she muttered, bought some food at a convenience store, and left.

She had figured it out: Rosalie had gone to Dynamic Entertainment to see Alice. Rosalie went there almost every morning, and her sudden fainting had to be connected to Alice.

Natalie took a cab to the building's lobby. The receptionists were engrossed in a drama. She put on sunglasses, let her hair down, and approached them.

They didn't notice her until she tapped the desk. "Ms. Cullen, you're here," one said.

"Yeah, I need to ask something. Three days ago, what time did my housekeeper arrive?" Natalie asked.

"One moment, I'll check," the receptionist replied. Two minutes later, she said, "Your housekeeper arrived at 9:16 AM and left at 11:20 AM. Anything else?"

"No, that's all," Natalie said and left.

The receptionists resumed their drama. "Didn't Ms. Cullen leave? Why is she back?" one asked.

"Who knows? Rich people are unpredictable. Don't sweat it," the other replied.

Natalie was right; Rosalie's fainting was linked to Alice. Alice and Avery were pushing too far. Despite her retreating, they still targeted Rosalie. Did they want to push them to the edge?

She walked out into the bright sun, lifting her face to the blinding light. Natalie closed her eyes for two minutes, then opened them as the light faded. Her fingers clenched and relaxed.

Despite the sunlight, she felt a bone-chilling cold. Suddenly, a loud car horn startled her. The driver yelled, "Hey! What the hell are you doing? Watch out!"

She realized she was in the middle of the road, cars passing by. A black Audi had stopped just a meter away, the driver furious. "Sorry," she mumbled.

On the sidewalk, she took out her phone, gathering courage. She dialed Adrian's number.

He answered on the second ring, sounding tired. "Hello."

"It's me, Natalie," she said.

Adrian knew it was her. "Hmm," he responded, waiting.

"Does your offer still stand?" she asked.

"What offer?" he pretended not to know.

"You said if I agree to be your mistress, you'd satisfy any request except marriage," she reminded him.

"Yes," Adrian confirmed.

Hearing his deep voice, she closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling. "Are you free tonight?"

"Have you made up your mind?" Adrian asked.

"Yes," Natalie replied. She had made up her mind.
