Chapter 938 The First Meeting

Every now and then, someone would push open the café door and stroll in.

Right then, a young woman in light blue clothes did just that, catching the waitress's eye.

She looked to be around twenty-seven, with long, curly brown hair and really fair skin. Her brown hair stood out because of how pale she was. The first glance told the waitress that she was a butter face.

She walked up to Cassidy just as the waitress approached, "Miss, what can I get you?"

Heather set her bag down and, without even glancing at the menu, said, "A latte, please."

After the waitress left, Heather flashed a smile at Cassidy.

"Hi, I'm Heather. Not really sure why you want to meet me." Heather didn't actually know the classy lady in front of her. She'd just gotten a call saying Yancy's mom wanted to see her.

Even though Heather had known Yancy for a bit, she didn't know much about his family, except that he owned a bar.

Yancy always had this laid-back, lazy vibe. Even during holidays, he seemed to prefer hanging out at the Blue Bar than going home.

Heather figured Yancy might have some family drama. She didn't know why his mom wanted to see her, but she couldn't just say no.

As Heather looked at Cassidy, she could feel the disdain in her eyes. Cassidy wasn't hiding it at all.

It was like Cassidy was thinking, "So this is the girl my son likes?"

Heather knew she wasn't drop-dead gorgeous, but she was still pretty attractive.

Cassidy's look was full of disdain.

But since Cassidy was Yancy's mother, Heather decided to suck it up.

Then Cassidy blurted out, "Name your price."

Heather raised an eyebrow.

Cassidy picked up her coffee, took a sip, and savored it. "I don't know how you managed to get Yancy to fall for you, but you're not fit to marry into my family. You're not worthy of Yancy."

Cassidy didn't beat around the bush.

Heather wasn't surprised.

Just then, the waitress came back with a tray, bringing not just coffee but also two complimentary desserts. "Enjoy."

Heather took a sip of her coffee. "So, you want me to leave Yancy. Why don't you talk to him about it?"

Cassidy pulled out a card from her wallet and slid it over to Heather, her champagne-colored nails tapping the table. "Here's ten million dollars. I know you're just a manager. You probably won't make ten million in your lifetime. Take the money and leave Yancy."

Heather leaned back, getting comfy. She didn't seem bothered by Cassidy's disdain. "You might as well talk to Yancy and have him break up with me. That way, you save your ten million."

"Heather, don't push your luck." Cassidy definitely wasn't going to bring this up with Yancy.
