Chapter 491 Remember My Name
Bella shivered.
In a flash, her sleepiness vanished.
"What did you just say?" Her voice wobbled. "Who the heck are you?"
She glanced at the unknown number.
A man's clear voice came through, hitting her like a ton of bricks.
"Remember my name, Nicholas Reynolds!" The guy said and then hung up.
Bella stared at the phone, her eyelashes fluttering. Suddenly, she sat up. Nicholas? Was that Nicholas on the line?
What did he say?
It hit her like a truck.
He said if anything happened to Austin, she'd have to pay with her life.
Bella thought, 'What happened to Austin? Wasn't he fine last night? Does this have anything to do with me?'
Her mind was a mess.
She jumped out of bed and threw on some clothes, but when she checked the time, it was already early morning. No way she could go to the Reynolds Mansion now. Sitting on the bed, her mind was racing. She stayed up half the night, unable to sleep.
First thing in the morning, Bella bolted out after breakfast. Marissa called after her, "Why the rush?"
Bella didn't answer, grabbed her bag, and dashed out. She didn't have a driver's license and couldn't drive. The family driver was taking Caleb to the company later, so Bella grabbed a cab.
She sped all the way to the Reynolds Mansion.
Meanwhile, at the Reynolds Mansion.
Austin was still in the hospital and hadn't come back.
Cassidy was in the greenhouse, snipping flower branches with scissors. Lucy, who was with her, said, "Nicholas came early this morning and took Austin to the hospital."
Cassidy didn't even blink, like she already knew. "How is he?"
Lucy said, "Cindy sent word that he's okay, but he needs to stay in the hospital for a few days. Given his condition, even a tiny bit of mango causing an allergic reaction is a big deal."
Cassidy finished trimming a bunch of roses, plucked off the dead petals, and put them in a fancy glass vase with clear water. "As long as he's fine."
She had a faint smile, but her eyes were cold. "Go visit him for me, so no one can say I didn't take care of him."
Lucy nodded. "Mrs. Reynolds, you're right."
The greenhouse was warm. Cassidy seemed a bit hot and lost interest. She handed the stuff in her hands to a servant. Lucy instructed, "Arrange the flowers properly. These are roses flown in from Manilove. Mrs. Reynolds likes them. Put a few branches in a vase on Cassidy's desk and coffee table."
The servant nodded. "Yes."
Ten minutes later, Lucy walked over, "Mrs. Reynolds, Ms. Swan is here."
Cassidy said, "Let her come over."
Bella walked over, looking worried. "Mrs. Reynolds, how's Austin?"
Cassidy said, "You know already?"
Cassidy was a bit surprised. She hadn't told Bella, so how did Bella know Austin was in the hospital?
But all of this was part of Cassidy's plan, like she had it all figured out.
Bella said, "I..." She didn't know what to say.
Cassidy was a stunning and elegant woman, but her vibe was anything but gentle. It was like a sharp ice blade, not painful but making people feel trapped.
Right now, under Cassidy's gaze, Bella didn't want to rat out Nicholas.
