Chapter 688 He Cooked by Himself
"Alright, since you're so hyped about my cooking, just hang tight for half an hour. I'll whip something up." Adrian leaned in, planted a deep kiss on Natalie's cheek, then headed to the kitchen.
Natalie's fridge was always stocked by her assistant every week. Adrian opened it up, and it was packed. He grabbed a few ingredients and looked up to see Natalie at the door, holding a light pink apron.
Natalie waved it around. Adrian raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on his lips. "Do I really have to put that on?"
Natalie nodded and walked over. Adrian outstretched his arms, letting her tie the apron on him. Seeing him in the light pink apron, Natalie burst out laughing. "It's a bit snug, but it'll keep the oil off."
Adrian started chopping tomatoes. Seeing Natalie’s smile made him feel good, too. "Go on, there's oil smoke here."
Natalie walked out, plopped on the couch, and watched TV for a bit. Then she grabbed her phone and snuck back to the kitchen. She snapped a few pics of Adrian cooking. The click of the snap gave her away. Adrian glanced over, and Natalie quickly hid her phone behind her back. "Just checking in."
Adrian knew she was taking photos. He also knew how he looked but seeing her cute face and those dimples, he just said, "So, you get a good look?"
Natalie grinned, "Yep, heading out now."
Back in the living room, she looked at the pics on her phone. Adrian’s side profile was sharp, with smooth contours. He wore a simple black T-shirt with that slightly small light pink apron. It was the first time she saw him in something like that, and she couldn’t stop smiling.
If only every day could be this perfect. But Adrian would never truly be hers. He’d cook for her, but he’d also cook for Alice.
This thought gave her a pang of disappointment. She forced herself to stop thinking about it and watched a movie for a while.
The smell of food filled the air.
Natalie walked to the kitchen. Adrian had already plated the meal. He made tomato spaghetti, with rich tomato sauce poured over it.
Adrian handed her a fork. "Dig in."
Natalie took it, inhaling the delicious aroma, her stomach growling. "You can cook?"
Judging by the look, it seemed tasty.
Adrian looked a bit eager. "Come on. Try it."
Natalie took a bite. Each mouthful was coated with rich tomato sauce, sweet and tangy. She nodded. "Delicious." She took another big bite, her cheeks puffed out like a hamster.
Seeing her pleasant grin, Adrian smiled, too. "I used to live alone when I was studying in Verono. My cooking skills are decent. Not Michelin-star level, but I can handle the basics."
Natalie teased while taking another mouthful, "I thought you were the kind of rich guy who just had to snap his fingers, and a housekeeper would whip up a feast."
"Do I succeed in disappointing you?" Adrian said gently, "When I was studying in Verono, my dad cut us off financially. After dropping us at school, he cut our cards for four years, and we had to fend for ourselves."
