Chapter 832 Comeback
Carlos snapped, "Mind your own business. Just tell me."
Yeah, Carlos was being a jerk, but Eudora didn't let it get to her. She just said, "She'll wake up tonight. After a day of observation, she'll be moved to a regular room."
Carlos asked innocently, "Will Alice be able to have kids in the future?"
Eudora couldn't help but laugh at Carlos's ridiculous question. With her uterus removed, how could Alice have kids?
"Nope, she can't," Eudora replied.
Carlos looked like he'd been hit by a truck.
Heather had just gotten back and went to find Natalie.
She was now the VP at Dynamic Entertainment Media, and with her connections, she heard about Alice's situation.
Heather said, "Did you hear it?"
Natalie was making a fruit platter. "Hear what?"
Heather replied, "Alice had a miscarriage."
Natalie nodded. "Yeah."
Heather went on, "Alice's situation is pretty bad right now. I have a friend whose sister is a nurse in the obstetrics department. My friend is digging for more info, so we should hear something soon."
Natalie brought the fruit platter and a glass of juice to the table and handed Heather the juice. "Why bother? I don't care about Alice."
Heather took a sip of juice. "I don't care about Alice, either, but I'm worried she might stir up trouble."
Natalie just smiled.
She pulled out her phone and saw a message from Chris.
Chris: [Check out the box office numbers!]
Natalie opened the movie app and saw that "The Nameless Road" had already raked in over $80 million today. Her eyes widened in shock.
Heather, thinking something was wrong, quickly sat next to her and looked at her phone. She couldn't help but shout, "It's true!"
"The Nameless Road" was making a huge comeback.
If this kept up, the box office could hit over $150 million by midnight.
Heather hugged Natalie tight. "I knew it, hard work always pays off. The effort you put in always matches the rewards you get!"
The buzz around "The Nameless Road" was growing.
Today's ratings were higher than "Chase Sound" and "For You, My World."
Natalie could hardly believe it and pinched herself.
When Natalie first took on this movie, she thought the script was amazing. Later, when she saw the rough cut, she felt the storyline was solid, and all the actors' performances were spot on, including her own. Every day, she practiced her lines and pronunciation like crazy in the hotel, memorizing lines and watching herself in the mirror to catch any flaws in her acting.
Finally, hard work really did pay off.
Natalie's eyes started to tear up.
Heather was already jumping with joy. "It's climbing fast. At this rate, tomorrow's box office could be even higher. Do you think it could hit $200 million in a single day tomorrow?"
Natalie couldn't bring herself to have a dream like that.
"It definitely will," Heather said confidently, gripping Natalie's hand. "Remember our promise to work hard together? Even though dreaming about the future sounds cheesy, we both said you want to be a critically acclaimed and popular actress, and I want to be the best manager. Now, we're both on our way."
Heather knew that maybe Alice's pregnancy had affected Natalie, but Natalie wasn't someone who only thought about love.
Natalie had always been clear about her priorities.
