Chapter 1393 Seeking Cooperation
"Alright, I'm gonna say it now." Daniel pulled some cash out of his wallet and tossed it onto the floor.
Green bills scattered across the silver-gray carpet.
"Is this enough?" he asked coldly.
The woman, blushing and with her head down, started picking up the bills one by one. "It's enough."
"Then go clean up," Daniel said, shrugging off his jacket and throwing it onto the couch. He sat down and watched her back. He had met her at a nightclub; she looked classy and spoke softly, but she had immediately nestled into his arms and asked if he was interested in buying.
She had a resemblance to Natalie.
Her face had stunned him for a moment.
She looked very pure.
No heavy makeup or the overpowering scent of cheap perfume.
Daniel had given her a sum of money, asking her to be available whenever he called.
After about ten minutes, the woman came back, wearing a loose white robe. She clutched the front of it and looked at Daniel, her voice small and trembling. "Mr. Murphy, I'm clean."
Daniel grabbed her chin, pulling at the belt of her robe with his other hand. She gasped as he pressed her down, his alcohol-laced breath coming closer. "Stop pretending to be innocent. It's not your first time."
Vesper Morgan's eyelashes fluttered. If it weren't for her brother's illness, she wouldn't have resorted to this.
But the man in front of her was handsome and generous, always giving her a substantial amount of money.
"You've been drinking?" She tasted the alcohol on his breath.
"Natalie, call my name."
Vesper froze. That name again.
Natalie.
He had called her that several times when they were together.
Vesper knew that because she resembled this Natalie, this wealthy heir had chosen her.
Vesper bit her lip, wrapping her arms around his back, her voice trembling. "Daniel, I'm here."
But my name is Vesper.

The day after Christmas.
Howard Manor had a few visitors.
Joe personally received them.
Natalie walked in and saw it was Liam.
Liam's name might seem unfamiliar at first.
Adrian whispered in her ear, "He's Kamille's father."
Natalie hadn't expected Kamille's father to visit.
Although the East Side of Redwood Isle seemed like Liam Cross's territory, it was actually Caroline's support that had helped him. Caroline was his wife and Kamille's mother.
Adrian and Natalie walked in, and Joe was making coffee in the living room. He looked up at them. "Here they are. This is Mr. Cross."
Adrian and Natalie greeted him politely.
Liam smiled. "So, this is Adrian and Natalie. It's not our first meeting; I saw Adrian as a child. Time flies, twenty years have passed, and we've all aged, with our children grown up."
"But Natalie, this is my first time meeting you. I couldn't attend Adrian's wedding before. Here," Liam said, taking out a blue velvet gift box. "I didn't bring much, but open it and see if you like it. If you do, come to Redwood Isle sometime, and I'll show you our pearl industry."
Natalie glanced at Adrian.
Adrian gestured for her to accept it.
