Chapter 560 Coercion
"Natalie ain't like that. It's all on me. Don't go blaming her. She didn't do squat," Rosalie was practically begging, trying to take the heat off Natalie. Right then, all Rosalie could think about was keeping Natalie safe.
But Rosalie had no clue she was playing right into Alice's hands.
These media folks? They weren't gonna help her out.
They'd just shove Natalie into a corner.
Rose jumped on the chance, asking, "Ma'am, what did you just say? You said it's all your fault and Natalie did nothing wrong; is there some hidden truth here?"
Rosalie kept saying, "It's 'cause of my illness. I need a kidney transplant, and she had no choice but to do this. It's my sickness that's dragged her into this mess. Blame me, not her."
In the video, Rosalie's eyes were all puffy from crying. She was dressed in plain clothes, pleading for Natalie, her daughter.
Rose, longing to be the first to break the news, didn't edit the footage at all. She posted it online right away. The video blew up fast.
It got shared by seventy thousand people and shot to the top of trending news.
Natalie was sitting in the car.
The car stopped at a small door at the back of the Dynamic Entertainment Media building to dodge reporters, skipping the garage.
But the media had been lurking around the small door, waiting for Natalie. As soon as she stepped out, they swarmed her.
Microphones were shoved in her face.
"Natalie, it's been 36 hours since the scandal broke, and you haven't said anything. Are you admitting to it?"
"Natalie, got anything to say?"
Yvonne was taken by surprise but quickly shielded Natalie with the bodyguards as they shoved inside.
Then one reporter shouted, "Natalie, we saw your mom, Mrs. Teeger, at the main entrance. You're carrying a bag worth tens of thousands, while your mom's outfit is worth less than a hundred bucks. Did you ditch your mom after getting famous?"
"Yeah, your mom, Mrs. Teeger, said you abandoned her because of her illness. Is it true you left your sick mom waiting at the Dynamic Entertainment Media building entrance?"
These reporters buzzed around like flies, crowding the small path at the back door of Dynamic Entertainment, making it hard to breathe.
Two bodyguards shielded Natalie as they moved forward.
Since the scandal broke, Natalie hadn't shown her face or said a word. Neither her studio nor her Facebook had made any statements. Natalie knew that without solid proof, any statement would be pointless.
Mindy had told Natalie to steer clear of these nosy reporters to avoid any slip-ups.
But then, Natalie stopped.
"You, you went to find my mom?" Natalie glared at the media, a glint with chill piercing out behind her sunglasses.
Rose felt a shiver. Even with Natalie wearing sunglasses, Rose could feel the chill.
Feeling a bit guilty, Rose said, "I just happened to meet a middle-aged woman at the entrance and found out she was your mom. You left her waiting all morning without even a drink of water."
Rose added, "Your mom confirmed that the woman in the photos is you. Got anything to say?"
