Chapter 884 Things Escalate
Alice laughed loudly. "What's up? Why are you yelling? I'm not deaf." She glanced at Sandra, who was covering her face and shaking with embarrassment, without a hint of regret. Instead, Alice seemed to be enjoying it.
Ainsley realized things were getting out of hand. Seeing Sandra's injury, she quickly called for a doctor.
Sandra wanted to charge at Alice, but Ainsley held her back. "Ms. Hall, let the doctor check your face first."
Alice sneered, "Yeah, don't mess up your face even more."
Sandra shot Alice a furious look but still cared about her appearance. She followed Ainsley to the nearby lounge where the doctor was waiting.
The scratches on Sandra's face wasn't too bad, but it was noticeable and would take a month or two to heal properly.
"Doc, how's my face?" Sandra asked apprehensively.
The doctor gave her some meds and said it wasn't too serious. With daily treatment, it would heal in a month, but the pigmentation would take six months to fade.
Sandra clenched her teeth. "Six months?"
'I'm getting engaged next month! If my face isn't healed by then, my wedding will be ruined!' Sandra thought.
Ainsley, standing nearby, also sighed in relief. She stepped out of the lounge and called Rebecca to fill her in.
On the other end, Rebecca was annoyed. "What's Alice's deal?"
'She's totally nuts, not ladylike at all! I should never have agreed to Amanda's request to invite Alice out of respect for Claire. Sandra's face being messed up is a big problem,' Rebecca thought. She headed straight to the lounge where Sandra was, just as the doctor finished treating her cheek.
The doctor was a specialist, so Sandra trusted him and didn't plan to go to the hospital.
To make sure the socialite banquet went smoothly, Rebecca had invited the top specialist from Sunrise Memorial Hospital to be on call, just in case. Once, at a banquet, a socialite had an allergic reaction to strawberries after drinking a mixed fruit juice, which almost caused a disaster. Luckily, she was rushed to the hospital in time.
Because of that incident, Rebecca always had surgical specialists on standby at her banquets to prevent any accidents.
Seeing Rebecca, Sandra stood up, feeling wronged. "Ms. Henderson, Alice poured champagne over my head first, and now she's scratched my face. I'm getting engaged next month. If my face isn't healed by then, how can I face anyone?"
As a woman, Rebecca totally got how important a face was. She walked over. "Ms. Hall, don't worry. I'll handle this. I'll get the best specialist to treat your face. I won't let anything happen to it. I'll cover all your recovery costs."
Rebecca rarely spoke so kindly to an ordinary socialite.
But since Sandra's face got injured at her event, she had to take responsibility.
Sandra was still fuming, thinking about Alice's smug face. "Ms. Henderson, Alice scratched my face. I'm not letting this slide. I'm planning to call the cops."
