Chapter 859 Continuous Praise

The last two weeks of December after Christmas.

"The Nameless Road" kept raking in the cash, hitting a whopping $2.2 billion. It became the top-grossing modern inspirational flick ever, with rave reviews all around. Natalie’s killer performance shut down all that talked about popular actors not having real talent, and Chris? He was now the hotshot director everyone wanted to work with.

Even Oscar sent Natalie a shoutout.

Honestly, Oscar didn’t see Natalie blowing up with a movie that had such a low-key cast.

Sure, it didn’t beat "Chase Sound" at the box office, but it was now the second highest-grossing film. Plus, the reviews for "The Nameless Road" blew "Chase Sound" out of the water.

"Chase Sound" had big-name actors, crazy special effects, and a huge budget. Everyone thought it would smash $4 billion. But "The Nameless Road"? It had a shoestring budget and mostly unknown actors, yet it still pulled in $2.2 billion, a massive success.

In an interview, Oscar talked about "Rising Winds" and said with a grin that it would be a game-changer for him.

When asked about Natalie, the lead in "The Nameless Road," Oscar smiled and said, "Natalie’s got real talent and spirit. Honestly, I didn’t know much about her when we cast her, but from day one on set, I saw she had the heart of a true actor. I knew we made the right call. When 'The Nameless Road' came out, I watched it and thought it was perfect for her."

Calling it "perfect" was a big deal coming from Oscar, a guy who was usually his own worst critic. It showed just how much he appreciated Natalie’s acting and the film’s story.

Wednesday morning.

Alice finally got discharged, even though she should’ve left the hospital two days ago.

Avery wanted her to stay a bit longer to rest up.

After a thorough check-up and the doctor’s thumbs-up on Alice’s recovery, Avery finally relaxed. Since Avery’s blow-up with Curtis, Curtis had been dodging him, only showing up when Avery wasn’t around.

But today, Alice was getting out, so both Curtis and Avery were there.

Curtis looked a bit sheepish when he saw Avery. Without much fuss, he helped Avery with Alice’s discharge papers.

Alice got home, feeling pretty good. Her wound didn’t hurt much as long as she took it easy.

Back in her room, Avery had the kitchen whip up some desserts and sent them up, telling Alice to take it easy. But Alice was too wrapped up in the debutante ball to listen.

If the ball had already happened, it wouldn’t be such a big deal. But with Rebecca postponing it and dropping the guest list daily, Alice was getting more and more obsessed.

Just this morning at 9, they announced Nola Skye as the top debutante in Emberlyn.

Nola wasn’t just the top debutante; she was also a famous pianist. She recently had a sold-out concert in Vachilit.

Now that Alice was out of the hospital, if she didn’t make it to the debutante ball, it would be super embarrassing. Even Diana got in.
