Chapter 21 Can't Get Over Him

Renee suddenly appeared behind her, sneering, "Mrs. Cullen, Mr. Howard was supposed to have dinner with Alice tonight, but Natalie didn't show up as Alice. Now she's having Mr. Howard drive her back. Quite the move!"

Avery scoffed, "Natalie is just like her lowly mother. She pretends to reject Adrian on Alice's behalf, but secretly, she's trying to seduce him!"

'She better watch herself, or I'll make sure she regrets it!' Avery swore silently.

A few days later, it was the 20th anniversary of Ardentia University.

The event was grand, with many big names attending—from famous alumni actors to industry leaders from various fields.

During the day, there were performances, with each department putting on three shows. In the afternoon, celebrities took the stage, including movie stars and renowned musicians.

In the evening, there was a masquerade ball.

Natalie, wearing a feathered mask and a blue gown, walked into the ballroom with Bella. As soon as they entered, Bella disappeared into the crowd, leaving Natalie to wander around looking for her. Suddenly, her eyes locked onto someone.

In the middle of the dance floor was a man in a dark green suit—Adrian.

Even with a mask on, his commanding presence was unmistakable.

Dancing with him was a woman in a custom blue gown.

It was Haven Clark, the youngest daughter of the famous Clark family and a renowned, elegant cellist.

Seeing this, Natalie quickly ducked into the crowd to avoid being seen by Adrian.

After a while, she managed to catch her breath, a bitter smile appearing on her face. Why was she feeling guilty? She was just a servant of the Cullen family and one of his students, nothing more.

On the dance floor, Adrian's eyes narrowed slightly. He thought he saw a familiar figure, but when he looked again, she had vanished. Was it just his imagination?

"Adrian," Haven's soft voice interrupted his thoughts. "I have a performance next week. Can you come?"

"I'll be on a business trip next week," he replied coldly, cutting her off. "But I can ask my fiancée if she wants to attend."

Haven's smile froze.

Her performances were always sold out, yet Adrian didn't care at all. He even used Alice to humiliate her.

She was caught off guard by his sudden engagement. She never knew there was any relationship between Adrian and Alice.

Why did they get engaged so suddenly?

Adrian's hand rested politely on her waist.

As soon as the dance ended, he released her and said indifferently, "I have some matters to attend to. Excuse me."

Havenwatched him leave, feeling a pang of disappointment.

In Vachilit, countless men pursued her, but she found none of them appealing.

"Haven," her friend Megan Turner said incredulously as she looked in the direction Adrian had gone, "you still can't get over him, can you?"

Havensighed dreamily, "Where else can I find someone as exceptional as him?"

"Haven, want me to help?" Megan offered, a strange glint flashing in her eye.

"What can you do? He's engaged," Haven said.

Megan swirled her wine glass and said, "So what if he's engaged? Engagement isn't marriage. There's nothing a good drink can't fix. Plus, I've got something special. You just need to put it in his drink..."
