Chapter 685 Pearl

Natalie glanced at Adrian, eyebrows raised. "Is this for real?"

Adrian grinned. "Yeah, you dig it?"

He slid the ring onto her finger, and Natalie was kinda stunned. A ring? That was a whole different ball game compared to other bling.

She stared at it, still processing. "How’d you even know my size?"

Adrian smirked. "Babe, I know everything about you."

Natalie blinked. "Seriously, Adrian, this is for me?"

Adrian nodded. "Remember that pink pearl you found on the island? I wanted to give it to you for your birthday, but it took a while to get it just right. I designed this myself; it’s one of a kind."

Natalie felt a warm rush in her chest and hugged him tight, tears threatening to spill.

Adrian, thinking she’d be all smiles, freaked out a bit. "Hey, what’s wrong? Don’t you like it?"

Natalie sniffled. "I love it."

"Then why the tears?" Adrian asked, gently wiping her eyes with his fingers. "I thought you’d be happy."

Natalie chuckled through her tears. "I am happy, so happy I’m crying. Ever heard of happy tears?"

She stood on her tiptoes and kissed his chin, feeling the rough stubble from his time away. She reached out to touch it.

Adrian caught her hand, leaned in, and rubbed his chin against her cheek, making her giggle and pull back.

That little sound lit a fire in Adrian. He hadn’t seen her in two months, and now he was all in. He pulled her close, but she gently pushed him away. "You haven’t even had your pizza yet."

"Forget the pizza. I want you," he growled in her ear, making her blush.

He pressed her down, his voice low. "Miss me?"

Natalie whispered, "Yeah, of course."

Two hours later, Adrian carried her to the bathroom for a shower.

Under the warm water, Natalie’s lips were a bit swollen, her voice raspy. "You go on. I’ll wash up."

"I got you," Adrian said, stepping into the tub.

"Adrian," she whined, her voice soft and teasing, making his heart race.

An hour later, they finally emerged from the bathroom.

Natalie, exhausted, flopped onto the bed. "You can finish the pizza if you want. I need a nap."

Adrian, shirtless with a bathrobe around his waist, knelt on the bed and kissed her forehead. Seeing her swollen lips and tired eyes, he softened. "My bad."

Natalie mumbled, "Then get out."

He patted her head. "Alright, I’m out. Rest up. Tonight, we’re going out for dinner."

She nodded sleepily. "Okay."
