Chapter 851 Dinner Delayed
Karen said, "We gotta plan this out right. Plus, Christmas just passed, and Dynamic Entertainment Media is already cranking out some big movies and TV shows. You can't just be a sidekick; your first gig should be a lead role."
Alice grinned, clearly pleased. "Alright, just let me know when you’ve decided."
Karen was shocked to find out Alice had lost her second child too.
With her sharp eyes, Karen could see that Adrian wasn’t into Alice. Alice only got admitted into the Howard family because of the kid. But if Adrian didn’t like her, how did she get pregnant? And losing both kids—was that just bad luck or something more?
Karen knew all about the drama in rich families.
But it was obvious that sticking with Alice wasn’t worth it anymore. Plus, her VP spot at Dynamic Entertainment was thanks to Natalie. And her equal at Dynamic was Heather.
Karen paused, then pulled out her phone and called Heather.
After hearing the scoop, Heather told Karen she’d inform Natalie and that Karen should follow Alice’s lead for now. But any future plans for Alice needed Heather’s okay. Karen agreed.
Karen hadn’t expected that her initial plan to climb higher with Alice would turn into a dead weight.
"The Nameless Road" raked in over a billion dollars in just five days.
Natalie remembered what Chris had told her. Chris thought "The Nameless Road" would hit over $2 billion. Maybe it was the perfect Christmas release timing, or maybe it stood out against the other commercial flicks like "Chase Sound" and "For You, My World." "The Nameless Road" was simple and natural. It was an inspirational film and a popcorn movie, but without the usual fluff. The storytelling, cinematography, and narrative were all top-notch.
This movie was a perfect step forward for Natalie.
Heather was already swamped with movie scripts, from big directors to indie projects.
Natalie didn’t just rely on big-name scripts anymore. She and Heather would go through every script, whether it was a small indie or a big blockbuster. If the script moved Natalie, she’d consider it. Even if it was a low-budget project, if Natalie took it on, Dynamic Entertainment would invest and turn it into a big deal.
She was looking for a fresh, different story that could really move her.
On Saturday.
Rebecca was supposed to host a socialite dinner at Blue Moon Lake Estate, but it got postponed out of the blue.
No specific reason was given for the delay.
Rebecca’s official Facebook just said that due to personal matters, the dinner party would be pushed back about a week.
Tons of media tried to get in touch with Rebecca to find out why, but she didn’t respond.
Three days later, a private account spilled the beans that one of the clothing items from Rebecca’s original company was suspected of plagiarism. Rebecca was stressed about it, and all new releases were canceled, which was why the dinner party got postponed.
