Chapter 467 Do You Believe in Fate?

Avery even flipped her backpack inside out, but nada, she came up empty.

Natalie saw Alice swipe Avery's bracelet to pawn it off and blow the cash on her boyfriend.

Alice had been playing the dating game since middle school, swapping boyfriends like trading cards.

Natalie had been through the wringer with the Cullen family since she was a kid.

Her biggest dream was to get Rosalie outta there. But when Rosalie got sick, all Natalie wanted was to make her better.

She'd give up anything if it meant Rosalie would get well.

To pay for Rosalie's surgery, Natalie sold her virginity.

To score a kidney for Rosalie, Natalie had to be Alice's stand-in and even had an abortion.

But today, she found out Rosalie wasn't her real mom. Avery was!

And Rosalie was the one who wrecked her life!

How could she even deal with that?

Natalie asked, "Mindy, you believe in fate?"

Mindy looked at Natalie, her eyes all empty and lost. She had no clue what Natalie had been through. "Natalie, you know how I got here? When I started in this biz, I was a total newbie, got bullied, framed, the whole nine yards. I never bought into fate. I always thought I made my own. No one but me can change my fate."

She squeezed Natalie's hand tight. "Natalie, I don't know what you've been through, but listen, don't give up. When life gets tough, you gotta push harder. Hold on to what's yours, grab it tight, and stomp on anyone who looks down on you."

A spark lit up in Natalie's eyes.

Slowly, that spark grew, like the first light of dawn breaking over the ocean.

Half an hour later, Adrian rolled up to Blue Mountain Community.

Mindy opened the door. First time seeing Adrian up close. For a second, she locked eyes with his icy stare and chiseled features. But then she looked down.

She couldn't bear to look at him again. Her heart was racing.

Adrian had this vibe, cold as ice, making it hard to breathe.

He didn't even glance at her and walked straight into the living room. She clutched her chest and let out a slow breath. Adrian was even colder than the rumors said. But damn, he was handsome.

He was drop-dead gorgeous. If he went into showbiz, he'd blow all the male stars outta the water.

Even from that quick peek, she couldn't get his face out of her head.

But man, he seemed like a total ice king.

Adrian was a legend in the Vachilit financial world.

Being this close to him, Mindy felt like she'd hit the jackpot.

In the living room.

Adrian walked in and caught a whiff of strong booze. He frowned. Natalie wasn't the type to drink, especially not like this.

He pressed his lips together, walked over to Natalie, knelt on one knee, and gently touched her face. "Natalie."

Natalie jumped. She thought she heard Adrian's voice.
