Chapter 1073 The Sudden Incident
By the time the cops and ambulance showed up, the place was already a total mess.
Tire marks were all over the ground, and a black sedan with a smashed front end was parked nearby. The police yanked the driver out, thinking she was too shocked to talk after the crash. But the woman in the car was super calm and even started laughing. "Finally dead! Natalie is finally dead!"
The woman was dressed to the nines, sporting a fancy pearl necklace. Even though the car was wrecked and she had a cut on her forehead, it wasn't too bad.
The cops figured it was a planned murder.
Avery stared at the chaos in front of her. The guardrail was busted, and Natalie and Adrian's car had plunged off the bridge into the deep lake below. Surviving that seemed impossible.
The police slapped handcuffs on Avery, and she confessed right away, "I did it on purpose. I wanted Natalie dead! A bitch like Natalie doesn't deserve to live! Why was it my daughter who got hurt and not that bitch Natalie?"
Just last night, Alice had tried to kill herself in prison. They managed to save her, but the doctor said she had severe mental trauma and had gone insane. She'd be kept in solitary confinement in a mental hospital from now on.
Avery was devastated. Knowing Natalie was coming home today, she watched her get off the plane and followed her until she crashed into Natalie's car!
'When I had Alice, I almost died in labor. Now Curtis has divorced me, and Alice is all I have left. Watching Alice suffer while Natalie became the Howard family's hostess, I couldn't stand it. When Rosalie had Natalie, I should've kicked them both out of the Cullen family,' Avery thought.
Alice went insane, and Avery lost it. She laughed loudly, "Alice, Adrian and Natalie are dead. They're all dead. I finally avenged you."
Everyone there was now convinced it was a planned murder.
The cops put Avery in the squad car, and she was headed for some serious legal trouble.
The whole Vachilit rescue team arrived and got to work right away.
Soon, they pulled the car out of the water and blocked off the area. No cars could get through. The cops, doctors, and rescue team members all gathered around. When they finally got the car out, the doors were badly mangled. The rescue team did everything they could and finally got the two people trapped inside out. They were both pale and unconscious, but their hands were tightly clasped together.
By the time the Howard family got the news, it was already 40 minutes later. Claire answered the call from the hospital, her face going pale. She stood up, swaying, and her phone fell to the ground.
Rachel happened to walk by and saw Claire's pale face. "Mom, what's wrong?" she asked.
Claire's eyes widened as she looked at Rachel, reaching out for support.
Rachel walked over and held her.
