Chapter 824 What Do You Want Me to Do
In another lounge.
Eudora really didn't want to agree to John's request to make Clayton his godson. "My son is still young and doesn't understand much yet. If he’s done anything to offend you, I'm sorry."
"Eudora, you haven't changed a bit," John said with a grin.
Back in middle school, Eudora had top grades, was class president, and took her responsibilities seriously.
And she was still the same now.
John continued, "I know Carlos used Clayton to pressure you, but think of this as doing me a favor. Clayton and me hit it off, and we were classmates. If you follow my lead, Clayton's life will be way better. Isn't he about to take his graduation exams? He hasn't picked a school yet, right? I help him with recommendation letter and make sure he gets the offer. And you, you've been a deputy director forever. With your skills, you should've been the director by now."
Eudora was stunned.
John went on, "Look at the big picture. We have a good relationship, and I'd never harm Clayton. You want the best for him, right?"
In no time, John had found out that Eudora had a shot at a promotion three years ago. She was up for the director position against another doctor, but the other candidate played dirty, and Eudora lost, even though she was more qualified.
Of course, Eudora wanted to be the director.
Seeing her hesitation, John said, "Don't say no. Look, Clayton's really happy right now."
John turned on the TV, showing the other lounge. Clayton was happily playing games and eating, looking super content.
Eudora wavered. "What do you want me to do?"
John replied, "It's simple. Make Alice's medical records impeccable so no one can find any issues. And, there's one more thing."
"What is it?"
After John explained, Eudora was shocked and immediately refused, "No way!"
Eudora had been a doctor for many years and had her principles.
But looking at the monitor showing her son happily playing in the next lounge, she knew she had no choice.
Natalie didn't get to see Adrian that night.
She felt a bit bummed but understood Adrian.
After a shower, Natalie checked out the new scripts Heather had sent her. They were all romance dramas, both historical and modern. Natalie wasn't into filming these types of dramas anymore. But most of the scripts she got were idol dramas.
She had watched an interview with a famous director once.
The director said, "Once you nail a particular role, you'll see more of those roles coming your way."
After doing several idol dramas, it was tough for actors to switch to serious roles. Natalie was just starting out in the entertainment industry. She wanted to play roles she hadn't done before and wanted different challenges. She knew Dynamic Entertainment could give her any resources she wanted, but Natalie also wanted to earn those resources with her own skills.
She didn't want to be seen as someone who relied on Adrian.
Dynamic Entertainment had already given her great resources with "Rising Winds," and Natalie was very happy with that.
Heather called Natalie with a voice message, and they chatted for half an hour. Heather said she'd be back tomorrow.
Natalie replied, "You just went back home a few days ago. Spend more time with your family. Dynamic Entertainment gave you a week off, so there's no rush."
