Chapter 363 Eavesdropping
There was a knock on the door.
The assistant opened it, chatted briefly, then turned to Victoria. "Ms. Richardson, it's Mr. Thompson."
Victoria nodded, sipped her coffee, and said, "Let him in."
Ron Thompson walked in with a young woman.
Victoria and Ron had been friends for years. She stood up as Ron approached. "Sorry to interrupt," he said, spotting Samuel. "You must be Samuel."
Samuel nodded. "Mr. Thompson, nice to meet you."
They shook hands. Ron admired young actors like Samuel, who had both talent and popularity. After some small talk, Ron noticed Natalie standing behind Samuel. She had an almost ethereal presence, easily standing out. She wasn't from their school; otherwise, he would've noticed her before.
Seeing her with Samuel, Ron figured she was his friend.
Samuel glanced at the young woman with Ron, knowing he was there for introductions. He said to Victoria, "Ms. Richardson, Mr. Thompson, Natalie and I will leave you to talk."
Natalie added, "Ms. Richardson, goodbye."
Victoria nodded. "Alright."
After they left, Victoria looked at the young woman with Ron. She seemed about Natalie's age, with a pure, youthful look and stylish outfit. Despite her beauty, she wasn't particularly distinctive—common in the entertainment industry.
Victoria turned to Ron. "Ron, have a seat. It's been a while."
Ron smiled. "Indeed. I heard you're working on a new movie. How's it going?"
"Not bad. Some minor issues, but they're resolved. So, are you here to check on my movie or introduce someone?"
"This is Kimberly Wood, the top student in our acting department," Ron said proudly.
Kimberly, nervous, greeted Victoria. "Ms. Richardson, nice to meet you."
Victoria nodded and signaled her assistant, who brought two cups of coffee. Ron took a sip. "You can test her however you like. Her acting is quite outstanding for her age."
Victoria nodded and gave Kimberly a scenario to act out. Kimberly quickly got into character and performed. Victoria smiled. "Not bad."
Kimberly's face lit up, but Ron, knowing Victoria well, understood she was just being polite. He said to Kimberly, "Kimberly, step outside for a moment. I need to talk to Ms. Richardson."
"Yes." Kimberly nodded, feeling anxious. 'Did Ron ask me to leave because my performance wasn't good enough? But I'm the top student in my class. Even my acting teachers praised me.'
Despite her doubts, she didn't delay. She quickly walked out and stood by the door, clenching her hands and occasionally glancing inside, though she couldn't see anything. She pressed her ear to the door but heard nothing.
