Chapter 460 Interrogation

"Natalie!" Rosalie snapped, giving her a look that could kill. "Even if you can't stand Alice, you can't just trash-talk her behind her back!"

Natalie let out a heavy sigh, and the rest of the drive was dead silent.

They finally pulled up at Blue Mountain Community.

Natalie and Rosalie hopped out of the car, and Natalie turned to Derek, "Hey Derek, can you do me a solid?"

Derek nodded, "Sure thing, Ms. Teeger. What's up?"

Natalie leaned in, "Can you not mention today to Adrian?"

Derek hesitated. His gig was to chauffeur Natalie around and spill everything to Adrian.

"Ms. Teeger, you mean the hospital visit?" he asked.

Natalie nodded, flashing a polite smile. "Yeah, please. I'll owe you one. Dinner on me sometime, and if you need anything, just ask."

Derek thought it over. A favor from Natalie wasn't a bad deal. "Alright, I won't tell Mr. Howard this time."

"Thanks," Natalie said.

Just as she was about to leave, Derek blurted out, "Ms. Teeger, where's your bracelet?"

He'd overheard the chat between Rosalie and Natalie in the car. Sounded like Alice had Natalie's bracelet, and Natalie had Alice's necklace. But it was clear Natalie didn't hand over the bracelet willingly.

That bracelet was a $2 million gift from Adrian.

Natalie bit her lip. Her skin was so delicate. Derek realized he'd been staring and quickly looked away.

"That's why I need you to keep it hush-hush," Natalie said, "You promised."

"But that bracelet was a gift from Mr. Howard. He'll find out eventually. Got a plan, Ms. Teeger?"

"I do," Natalie grinned. "I'll just say I lost it."

Derek was floored, "Ms. Teeger, that's..."

Back home, Natalie wanted to shower and change. She had a script meeting with Heather later. When she walked in, she saw Rosalie on the phone in the living room.

Natalie was heading to her room when she heard Rosalie say, "You want some dessert? Sure, I'll bring it tomorrow. Oh, you're getting out tomorrow? Cool, I'll drop it off at the Cullen Villa."

Natalie stopped in her tracks and turned around slowly. "Mom, are you talking to Alice?"

Rosalie covered the phone, said a few more things, and hung up. She looked at Natalie. "Alice wants some dessert. I was gonna make some anyway, so why not a bit more?"

"Mom, she's a Cullen. They have a ton of servants. Her mom is Avery! You don't need to cook for her! We have our own lives!"

Natalie was sick of Rosalie freaking out over Alice.

It was like Alice was her real daughter.

Thinking about it, Natalie gave a bitter smile.

Rosalie stood up. "Making a little extra isn't a big deal. I've been making desserts for over ten years, and Alice is used to it. I'm bored at home anyway, so I'll take it to her. It only takes a few minutes. Besides, look at her now, all banged up."

Seeing Natalie was upset, Rosalie quickly added, "Didn't you always want some dessert too, Natalie? I'll make extra, and it can last for three days."

Watching Rosalie head to the kitchen, Natalie softly said, "Mom, am I your real daughter?"

Rosalie was tying her apron and froze. Her hands stopped moving.
