Chapter 616 It's Because of Me
Yancy let out a big sigh and said, "Heather, why you gotta be so stubborn?"
Heather grabbed Yancy's thin, veiny hand. "So, is this really all on me?"
She squeezed his hand tight. With his injury, he had a low fever, and his palm was dry and hot.
Heather's fingers were kinda cool.
Yancy held on just as tight, not wanting to let go.
He shook his head, "Heather, this ain't about you."
Heather lowered her head and planted a kiss on Yancy's dry, hot lips.
Yancy was stunned for a sec and answered her kiss.
Their relationship was more like two adults getting what they needed from each other.
Yancy had feelings for Heather, so he helped her out.
Heather had to give back in her own way.
There were feelings, but not the lovey-dovey kind.
They'd known each other for less than a week.
But Yancy had risked his life and got hurt for Heather. He had no clue what was going on in her head.
This was the first time Heather had kissed him out of the blue.
Yancy clenched his fists, and Heather lifted her face, her eyes all red.
Yancy's lips had a faint taste of Heather's.
Yancy reached out and gently pinched Heather's cheek. "Don't cry. I'm good."
"Go to sleep. I'll stay here with you." Heather's voice had a bit of a sob in it.
Heather wasn't one to show emotions, but now she couldn't hold back.
For the first time, Heather had real feelings for a guy.
[Alice Cares For Natalie's Mom] blew up online.
Natalie grabbed her phone, opened Facebook, and posted with the hashtag.
Natalie: [Mrs. Teeger was in the hospital last night, and thank God Alice took good care of her. When I'm swamped with work, Alice always assist me. Alice says my mom is her mom, too, and she treats my mom like her own. Thanks, Alice, love ya~ @Alice]
After posting, Natalie felt a bit grossed out by her own words. It was the first time she got all mushy.
Natalie got up to wash her hair and slapped on a face mask. She had to join the crew tomorrow.
Oscar's new film was kicking off in Vilniusky.
Natalie had to be there by noon today.
Fifteen minutes later, Natalie picked up her phone and checked the comments. There were praises, surprises, but nothing of note.
But overall, they were positive.
Natalie and Alice had been hyping up their friendship. If Alice ever took over Natalie's gigs, it wouldn't look like she was stealing them.
And this hype had another perk for Natalie.
Herman bugging her meant he had no clue about the guy backing Natalie. By hyping her friendship with Alice and trending in the news, anyone at Dynamic Entertainment Media with plans for her would have to think twice.
It was like an invisible shield for herself.
And Natalie had her own agenda.
She made sure to say stuff like "we're besties" and "my mom is your mom," claiming Alice treated Rosalie like her own mom. Natalie wanted Avery to see this. She could already picture his face when he saw it.
Alice recognizing the woman Avery hated most, Rosalie, as her mom. How ridiculous!
Thinking of Avery's pained expression, Natalie grinned.
Heather's call came through. "Awake? I'm heading to your place. I'll bring you breakfast."
Natalie asked, "Heather, you're up so early. Didn't you have a late night with your boyfriend?"
