Chapter 794 Alice Is Also at the Howard Mansion
Natalie's new flick, "The Nameless Road," was about to drop. Once it hit theaters, she'd have a ton more options on her plate.
Even though the movie was top-notch and Chris had spent years perfecting the script, Natalie was still freaking out as the release date got closer.
Charlotte, who was super tight with Natalie, bought all the tickets of a theater early and went all out on marketing.
On Christmas Day, Natalie was chilling at home by herself.
The world outside was buzzing with holiday cheer, but Natalie's apartment felt like a ghost town, totally lacking any festive vibes.
She knew Adrian wouldn't be there to keep her company; he had to head back to the Howard Mansion. No matter how much Adrian liked her, he wasn't about to ditch his family for her.
Plus, Alice was at the Howard Mansion, too.
Right now, the Howard Mansion was lit up like a Christmas tree.
The servants got the night off and were hanging out in their quarters upstairs.
The butler threw a party, and the long table was loaded with food. He handed out gifts one by one.
The Howard family’s servants were top-notch, well-educated, and had great character. The Howards paid them well, like white-collar job well, and they got to rub elbows with some pretty successful folks. So, whenever the butler was hiring, there were tons of applicants, but only a few made the cut after some serious vetting.
At the Howard Mansion.
In the dining room.
A bunch of men stood up and toasted. Today was all about family for the Howards, with younger members from branch offices and overseas HQs all showing up.
Even Donte's parents were there. His dad, Herman, was the eldest son and had this commanding presence. His mom, Elowen, was from Verono, with long blonde hair and light-colored eyes.
When Elowen first met Alice, she brought a gift. "I don't know when we'll meet again, but when your baby is born, I'll definitely come. Consider this gold necklace an early gift for the little one."
Alice smiled politely and said, "Thank you, Elowen."
Elowen gave Alice a once-over and then looked away.
The dining room was buzzing.
Claire was busy introducing Alice to everyone.
Alice greeted everyone with the grace of a true socialite. Avery had called her earlier to remind her to stay cool, calm, and collected.
In such a grand setting, Alice wasn't about to make a scene.
She sat next to Adrian and put a piece of meat on his plate. He didn't eat it, just acknowledged it with a grunt.
Alice had hoped that with so many people around, Adrian would show her some respect, but nope, she was wrong.
Adrian wasn't the type to be swayed just because there was an audience.
Luckily, most guests were gathered around Ruben, so not many noticed Alice.
As Alice lowered her head to eat, a girl from the Howard clan suddenly asked, "Your brooch is gorgeous. It looks like a limited edition. Did Adrian get it for you?"
Alice was wearing a turquoise and sapphire zodiac series brooch, which was indeed a limited edition from the boutique, with only ten pieces in the entire Vachilit.
