Chapter 513 Will He Notice Me?
Seeing Coco nod, Charlotte was like, "Wait, what's her deal that she snagged Oscar's new flick? I thought Samantha was the big shot among the newbies."
The moment Samantha signed the contract, bam, she landed the lead in Esme's new movie.
Esme's movies always raked in at least seven hundred million dollars at the box office.
Coco chimed in, "Weird, right? Samantha's been MIA lately. Her agent's been handling other folks, and Samantha's got zilch going on. Usually, she's all over the place with beauty gigs, interviews, and variety shows."
Maybe Samantha was sick and needed a break, or she messed up big time, like Charlotte and Eunice, and got benched by Mindy for a couple of weeks.
But usually, stuff like that would be all over the company, not this hush-hush.
Charlotte and Coco exchanged a look and had a lightbulb moment.
Maybe she got blacklisted for good.
But nah, that couldn't be it. Esme's new movie was dropping later this year, and if the lead got blacklisted, they'd have to reshoot the whole thing.
Charlotte was like, "Go dig up some dirt."
Meanwhile, in another lounge, Eunice was feeling herself. She had an assistant doing her nails and a makeup artist working on her second look.
Her agent asked, "Are we still putting out the press release?"
Neither of them had walked the red carpet.
Eunice was like, "Duh, post it. And tweak it a bit. This dress of mine costs way more than Charlotte's."
Her rivalry with Charlotte had long been public knowledge.
For a big event by Dynamic Entertainment Media, she had to outshine Charlotte.
"Oh, and I heard Mr. Howard's gonna be here tonight." Mentioning Adrian, Eunice's eyes practically lit up.
Her agent nodded, "Yep, that's the word."
Eunice asked, "Think he'll notice me?"
Eunice was pretty well-known in the biz.
She remembered seeing Adrian at a party a year ago, and she couldn't take her eyes off him.
He was hotter and more magnetic than any male celeb out there.
Her agent knew Eunice had a thing for Adrian. "Of course, Eunice, you're killing it tonight."
But inside, the agent was like, yeah right.
She knew a guy like Adrian wouldn't give a female artist the time of day. Especially with so many more famous and gorgeous stars around.
Eunice's crush was probably a lost cause.
But Eunice and Samantha weren't the only ones with their eyes on Adrian tonight.
A lot of folks were buzzing about his arrival.
Samantha was hiding out in a lounge while Tessa pulled out a makeup bag and touched up her foundation. "Samantha, you look drop-dead gorgeous tonight. If I were Adrian, I wouldn't be able to look away."
