Chapter 122 Mr. Howard Only Asks You to Go
Elodie's eyes darkened slightly. "I see." Soon, she asked again, "Natalie, how about your mother now?"
Natalie lowered her eyes gently. "She's okay for now."
Seeing this, Jagger quickly interjected, "Mom, you've been urging me to bring my girlfriend home every day. Now that I've brought her, please don't keep asking her questions."
"Alright, as long as you're happy."
Elodie didn't press further, and Natalie finally relaxed a bit.
Soon, the meal was ready. Jagger called Natalie to eat, and while he was washing up, he said to Elodie, "Mom, I really like Natalie. I'd prefer you not to inquire too much about something."
Elodie scolded, "You're not allowed to ask? What about that Traylor before? I thought that girl was good, and she's also your colleague from a good family. Natalie looks much better than Traylor, but she hasn't graduated and no job now. You're several years older than her, and she still has a sick mother to take care of."
Jagger was somewhat dissatisfied. "Mom."
Elodie repeated, "Alright, alright, I won't mention it, Mom won't mention it."
Jagger's home was not large, about 100 square meters in size, and had a middle-class background. Dorian and Elodie only had Jagger. Although Elodie was not satisfied with Natalie's family background, since her son liked her, she had to accept it.
Dorian seemed to understand what Elodie was thinking. When Jagger took Natalie home, he advised, "Don't focus too much on family background. I think Natalie is quite good, polite, and looks nice. I know about her mother's situation. Jagger asked me before, and I even contacted Director Chen. Her mother had kidney failure. She had a kidney transplant already and is doing well now. Don't overthink it."
Dorian was accustomed to life and death, joys and sorrows in the hospital. He had seen countless people and could tell that Natalie was a kind and quiet girl. It was no wonder his son liked her.
"I'm doing this for the good of our son. That Traylor before, her mother was a vice-dean. In the future, when our son applies for a job title, it will be much easier."
"Alright, dear, let's not interfere in the children's affairs anymore."
Jagger's car was parked outside the Cullen family's villa area.
"I'll head back now. Drive slowly on your way." Natalie said.
With that, she opened the car door and stood up, but she hadn't unfastened her seatbelt. She sat back down instantly, and Jagger chuckled. His long fingers helped her unfasten the seatbelt, and Natalie's face blushed slightly. "I'll go now."
"Natalie!" Jagger called out to her.
Then he took out a jewelry box, revealing a pair of hexagonal-shaped earrings. "Let me help you put them on."
Natalie leaned in, and Jagger helped her put them on. "They're not anything expensive, and I just happened to see them today. Do you like them?"
Natalie glanced at the mirror. Her earlobes were delicate, and the hexagonal shapes shimmered on her ears. She nodded.
"It is good if you like it."
She got out of the car, waved to him, and only turned to walk into the residential area after Jagger's car had left. Suddenly, her phone rang, and she glanced at it. It was Melody calling.
"Hey, Mrs. Nicholson."
"Natalie, go back to the Imperial Nightclub now. You'll get double pay tonight. Mr. Howard from 805 only requests your presence."
Natalie was taken aback.
Adrian?
"Mrs. Nicholson, I'm not available right now."
"Natalie, you have to come. Mr. Howard is drunk, and you're responsible for getting him back." Melody interrupted, her tone brooking no argument.
