Chapter 188 We Are Classmates
Had it not been for Jamie and Grandpa's fondness for it, she wouldn't have asked Alice! And she had the nerve not to tell her, acting all high and mighty!
Rachel continued her meal, caring only about Jamie's opinion.
Alice gritted her teeth, glaring at Natalie!
It was intentional, Natalie did this on purpose!!
The tiramisu was the first dish to be finished at dinner. Adrian had two pieces, even Joe tried a bite, praising, "Who would have thought, Alice's cooking is quite good."
Alice could only manage a guilty smile.
"I’m very glad that you like it."
Claire added, "Alice can make many other things, too. But I didn’t expect her tiramisu to be this good, even richer and softer than mine."
Alice quickly said, "Aunt Claire, I'll prepare some more tomorrow and bring it over."
"You're pregnant, don't overexert yourself."
"I won't, I promise."
Rachel, observing Alice's demeanor, muttered under her breath, "Hypocrite!"
Alice, sitting next to Rachel, naturally heard this. Her face turned a bit sour. But she dared not show her displeasure!
Rachel was, after all, the Howard family's heiress. Alice had to curry favor with her!
After dinner, Natalie taught Rachel how to make tiramisu.
Alice, feeling uneasy, followed them to the kitchen but was quickly rebuffed by Rachel. "What are you doing here? Go rest for your baby’s sake. If anything happens to your child, don't blame it on me."
"Rachel." Alice bit her lip and looked at Natalie. "Natalie, make sure you teach Rachel the proper way to make tiramisu, no cutting corners."
Rachel scoffed.
Alice left the kitchen, glaring at Natalie's back, vowing that someday she would make her pay!
Rachel was very attentive. "Is this how you do it? Is this the right amount of cheese?"
Natalie replied, "Add a little first, then a bit more at the end. For the elderly, it's better not to add too much sugar. You can also make it sugar-free by adding some xylitol, which is healthier for them."
Rachel nodded. "You're so considerate, much better than Alice. I don't know what my brother sees in that hypocritical woman."
"Natalie, is this enough cheese?"
"This is enough to make a large one. It should be plenty for dessert after dinner "
Rachel nodded earnestly. "Alright."
Once this batch was ready, Rachel carried it out.
Natalie washed her hands and then she heard footsteps approaching from behind. Thinking it was Rachel, she said, "Ms. Howard, I've already cleaned up and I wrote down the ingredients list and marked the exact measurements, and also..." She paused mid-sentence,realising the person behind her wasn't Rachel.
Taking a deep breath, as if already knowing who it was, Natalie didn't turn around. Her voice, calm yet with an unnoticeable tremor and said, "Mr. Howard."
Adrian stood about a meter behind Natalie, his gaze fixed on her slender back, his voice somewhat hoarse. "You and Daniel, you get along well?"
"We are classmates."
"Classmates, huh?" Adrian sneered, saying, "Trying to seduce my brother, Natalie, you need to remember your place."
Natalie's back stiffened.
Her fingers slowly clenched.
"Mr. Howard, you misunderstood."
