Chapter 563 Mindy Exposes Herself
Mindy quickly jumped in, "Whoa, I didn't mean it like that."
Natalie shot back, "Set up a press conference for me in three days."
Mindy's eyes widened. "Three days? Seriously?"
Heather chimed in, "Got it, I'll get on it right now."
Natalie then asked, "Oh, and is that woman still hanging around the entrance of Dynamic Entertainment Media?"
Heather nodded, "Yeah, I had the receptionist take her to the lounge. You heading over there?"
Natalie turned to Mindy, "Why didn't you tell me she was here? My mom shows up and you leave her downstairs? Why didn't you let her come up?" Her voice got more intense with each word.
Mindy tried to explain, "The receptionist didn't know she was your mom. With everything going on, they were being cautious, thinking it might be some reporter pretending to be her. It was just a mix-up."
Natalie asked, "Which lounge is she in?"
Mindy replied, "Lounge 2."
Natalie got to her feet and scurried out.
Heather prepared to catch up.
Mindy stopped her, "Why is Natalie doing a press conference? The best move is to let this blow over. A press conference now will just stir the pot. Heather, you're her agent, you can't just agree with everything she says. Think about her future. I've got a PR team working on this. If she hadn't confronted the reporters, this wouldn't have blown up. As her agent, you need to guide her, not just follow her lead. Celebrities can be impulsive, and you need to rein that in."
Heather looked at Mindy. She respected her as a manager but didn't see eye to eye on this.
Heather said, "It's clear the woman in the photo isn't Natalie, so why not clear it up? With solid proof, we can clear her name. Letting it slide isn't the best move. Natalie's got a long career ahead. If we let this go, it'll be easier for others to smear her name in the future. They could just fake more photos."
Mindy shot Heather a warning look, "Heather, remember, this is Dynamic Entertainment Media. You're just an agent, don't overstep."
Heather knew the huge gap between her and Mindy.
She didn't want to push her luck. "But Natalie wants a press conference, so it's happening. We can advise her on other stuff, but once she's on set, things will calm down."
Mindy said, "This whole mess has delayed filming a lot. The script's already here, so let Natalie go over it. Oscar's not happy about this. I've smoothed things over for now. Oscar's a big deal; even though Natalie has resources and Mr. Howard's backing, she needs to impress the big shots with her talent."
Heather agreed with Mindy on that.
Mindy added, "Alright, go wait by the lounge. I'll head back to the office. If anything comes up, let me know right away. Don't make any calls on your own."
