Chapter 350 Tracking

Rosalie came home in the afternoon with a bunch of stuff. The living room was quiet, and no one was around, so she figured Natalie had already left for work.

She headed to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and saw it packed with fruits and veggies. She thought, "Great, what a stupid excuse I just came up with? If Natalie sees, she'll get suspicious."

She'd rushed out that morning and totally forgot about it.

The pot on the stove was still warm, and the air smelled like food. Rosalie noticed a sticky note on the pan.

"Mom, I went to work. There's food in the pan."

But she didn't check the pan right away. Instead, she looked around and opened the pot on the stove. Inside was the chicken soup she made in the morning, with half a bowl left. She'd rushed to deliver it to Alice and forgot to clean up. She hoped Natalie hadn't noticed.

Feeling uneasy, she called Natalie.

The call connected quickly.

Rosalie asked, "Natalie, you went to work early?"

Natalie replied, "Yeah, went in a bit early today. Mom, you're back? I made some spaghetti in the pan, remember to eat it."

"Okay. By the way, did you drink the chicken soup I made for you?" Rosalie asked, feeling guilty and wanting to explain.

Natalie, changing clothes in the locker room, paused for a few seconds, then said calmly, "What chicken soup, Mom? You made chicken soup? If I knew, I wouldn't have eaten spaghetti."

"I didn't see it. No worries, I'll heat it up for dinner," Natalie said, making Rosalie feel relieved.

After hanging up, Natalie's face turned pale. She didn't know what Rosalie was up to lately. Rosalie was hiding something, but Natalie didn't want to pry. Rosalie's happiness and well-being were all that mattered.

Friday.

Natalie woke up early, listening to sounds from Rosalie's room. It was 8:30 AM, but she was wide awake.

She hadn't been busy last night and got home around midnight after handling the liquor inventory.

Not feeling sleepy, she was about to get up when she heard footsteps outside her door.

She closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

Rosalie walked in, saw Natalie with her blanket half off, shook her head, and sighed. She tucked in the blanket, tidied up the dirty clothes, and left.

After Rosalie left, Natalie sat up, got dressed, and was about to go to the living room when she heard the front door open and close. Rosalie had left.

She was surprised, thinking, "It's only 9 AM. Why is Mom going out so early?"

Thinking about Rosalie's strange behavior, Natalie put on a mask, grabbed her bag, and went out too.

Rosalie had just left Blue Mountain Community when Natalie followed.

She kept a close distance, determined to find out what Rosalie was up to and where she was going.
