Chapter 440 Signing Heather
Samantha really didn't want Heather as her agent; she wanted to help out her cousin. When she heard Heather was thinking about quitting, she was over the moon. But then she caught Mindy's eye and felt a shiver.
Mindy was a big deal, the top agent at Dynamic Entertainment Media, and she had this vibe that could totally freak out a newbie like Samantha.
Heather hesitated for a sec but then shook her head. "Nah, I need a break. Sorry, Mindy."
Lydia pursed her lips. "Heather, think twice before turning down the offer. Your family's going through a rough patch, and you could use the money. Don't quit on a whim. Switching jobs takes time. I put you with Samantha 'cause you're thorough and good at what you do. I've got a show to prep for and will be on set a lot. There's no one else for Samantha right now."
Samantha jumped in, "Lydia, Tessa's awesome. She's detailed and knows my vibe. I think Tessa's perfect. I can never find Heather when I need her."
Heather found Samantha's lies kinda funny. "Samantha, every time you needed me, I was there."
Samantha scoffed. "Mindy."
Mindy could see Samantha was trying to ditch Heather to get her cousin Tessa in. She shot a look at Lydia, like, "Look at the kind of artist you've got!"
Lydia felt the heat right away.
Mindy said, "I remember our company rules say agents need to give two months' notice. Heather, even if you quit now, you can't leave for two months. If you leave without much thought, what does that say about Dynamic Entertainment Media?"
Heather knew big companies had strict rules.
She didn't argue. "Got it."
Samantha was still kinda pissed.
Mindy stood up. "I don't have time for this drama. Lydia, you handle it. Don't bug me with this petty stuff again. And I hate sneaky competition and tantrums. Dynamic Entertainment Media has lots of artists; don't think you're special. Resources don't have to go to you. If you're not cooperative, you don't deserve them!"
Lydia knew Mindy was really mad and quickly nodded before Samantha could say anything, "Yes, Mindy, I'll take care of it."
Samantha was obviously unhappy, but seeing Lydia admit fault, she kept quiet.
She had wanted to use this chance to replace Heather.
Natalie and Yvonne stood outside the conference room for a bit before Natalie gently knocked and walked in.
Mindy was about to leave. "Was it too loud and bothered you?"
Natalie's lounge wasn't close to the conference room, and the soundproofing was good. She shook her head. "I just swung by and got something to chat with you about."
Natalie walked in and glanced around the room. Lydia, Heather, Samantha, and Samantha's assistant Tessa were all there. Natalie said, "I need an executive agent. Since Heather and Samantha aren't getting along, why not let Heather work with me?"
Heather was shocked and looked at Natalie. "Natalie."
Natalie smiled. "Sorry, I forgot to ask you first. Would you like to be my executive agent?"
Heather nodded like crazy. "Of course, I would! I'd love to!"
