Chapter 366 Disappointing
Evening at the Cullen House
Lizzy was cleaning the kitchen when she heard something crash upstairs. She flinched but kept working, knowing Avery was having another fit. Ever since Natalie joined the family, Curtis rarely came home, and Avery was always mad. Even when Curtis did show up, he barely talked to Avery.
Today, Avery was angry again for some reason.
Things were getting smashed upstairs, and Lizzy knew she'd have to clean it up later. She sighed. If it weren't for the good pay, she wouldn't want to work here. Avery had been so unpredictable lately.
Sure enough, after about ten minutes, Renee came over. "Lizzy, go clean the study."
Lizzy quietly said, "Yes," grabbed her cleaning tools, and headed upstairs. Renee hobbled behind her, muttering something about "that bitch Natalie."
Lizzy pursed her lips and glanced back at the overweight Renee struggling up the stairs. It had been two months since Natalie pushed her down the stairs, and her leg still hadn't healed. Every time she went upstairs, she cursed Natalie. Renee's hobbling was almost comical, like a jiggling piece of fat.
Lizzy knocked and entered the study. Avery, who had just thrown a tantrum, was now sitting on the sofa with her eyes closed, chest heaving, still emotional. Lizzy stepped on something and looked down to see it was a phone. She picked it up, noting the cracked screen, and placed it on the table. Then she knelt to sweep up the glass shards.
Renee finally walked in, panting. "Mrs. Cullen, why are you fighting with Mr. Cullen? Just let him do what he wants. It's hard enough to get him to come home."
Avery opened her eyes and glared at Renee, who immediately shut up. Avery sighed. "Curtis and I have been together for twenty-four years. But look how he treats me. Do you know how my friends laugh at me?"
Renee said, "Mrs. Cullen, what does it matter? Ms. Cullen is due in less than two months. Once the baby is born, Ms. Cullen will be the future mistress of the Howard family. Your friends will have to curry favor with you."
Mentioning Alice gave Avery a headache. Especially the child in Alice's belly. If the child didn't make it, all their efforts would be in vain. But if the child was born, the Howard family would find out the truth, and that would be a big problem!
Avery asked, "Where's Alice?"
Renee said, "Ms. Cullen hasn't come back yet. I heard she's playing cards with the Murphy family."
Avery frowned. "It's so late, and she's not back yet! Where is she? Call her! She's still pregnant. What if something happens to her?"
Renee took out her phone. "She should be at the Imperial Nightclub."
Imperial Nightclub? Avery thought for a few seconds. Natalie was also at the Imperial Nightclub and hadn't been fired yet! It seemed that Emma couldn't handle it.
Originally, she was meant to humiliate her by making her a waitress in the Imperial Nightclub. Unexpectedly, Natalie gained a lot of attention with her looks. Many CEOs specifically requested Natalie's booth for drinks, giving her generous tips, and Natalie made a lot of connections!
The main issue was that Adrian often went to the Imperial Nightclub. She was afraid Natalie would take the opportunity to get involved with Adrian. If Adrian recognized Natalie as the woman from the hotel that night, how could Alice ever become Mrs. Howard?
