Chapter 738 Get It Straight
So, Alice had been raising hell at Dynamic Entertainment for days now, but it was all for nothing.
In Finnian's office, Alice was fuming. "Mr. Harrington, you gotta explain this. Who the hell pulled the funds? I’ve got 10 days left to finish filming, and now you’re cutting me off. What about my scenes?"
This was Alice's first flick, so she valued it highly.
Even though Victoria bailed, which messed things up big time, that was on her for not seizing the chance. The movie had a $200 million promo budget. Not only did it flop at the box office, but Karen also threw in a bunch of resources for trade.
Now that filming was on hold, it meant the movie was basically dead.
Alice couldn't help but overthink. She was supposed to be the future Mrs. Howard. Even if she wasn’t tight with Adrian, people didn’t know that. Just being the future Mrs. Howard should’ve made Dynamic Entertainment think twice before pulling the plug.
So, who yanked the funds? Was it the Howard Group or Finnian?
Finnian had his assistant bring Alice a coffee, saying, "Ms. Cullen, take a seat. Let’s talk this through."
Alice took a sip, and Finnian asked, "What about Karen? Should we get her in here?"
"No need." Alice didn’t want to hear any of Karen’s sweet talk.
Finnian continued, "This decision came after talks with the Howard Group. For One Day, Dynamic Entertainment Media made four extra investments, totaling $700 million. You know, you're also an actress under our banner. And you can understand that under Lucas and Herman’s leadership, we’ve been bleeding money. The profits we made were funneled into new projects. This month alone, we’ve kicked off five major productions, and One Day is just too expensive to keep up. So, we all agreed to pull the funds."
Alice couldn’t wrap her head around all this business talk, so she snapped, "You could’ve pulled from someone else’s project. Wendy’s new show just started, why not pull from that? You’re clearly picking on me. Finnian, this decision was made by a few folks at Dynamic Entertainment Media. Does Adrian know? Bet he doesn’t! You better get filming back on track, or I’m taking this to the Howard Group!"
Finnian stayed calm. "I’m looking out for Dynamic Entertainment. We need profits for the second half of the year. Otherwise, my job’s on the line."
Alice shot up, furious. "I’ll make sure you lose your job now! My fiancé is Adrian, and Dynamic Entertainment is a Howard Group subsidiary. How dare you pull funds from my project? You’ve got two days to get filming back on!"
Finnian didn’t budge, keeping a gentle smile like he was still trying to reason with her. "Ms. Cullen, if you don’t get what I’m saying, maybe have your agent talk to me."
Alice stormed out, fuming. She headed straight to Karen’s office.
Karen had been planning Alice’s next steps since One Day stopped. Even though Karen was now the VP, Alice was still her actress, and Karen’s business savvy was well-known. She personally handled stuff for her top talents.
With Alice’s movie on hold, Karen was already lining up new projects.
