Chapter 1051 Unfamiliar Face
Everyone blamed Alice, but Avery loved her more than anything.
Alice was her whole world; Avery only had this one daughter.
They were at the police station, not a prison, so there was no glass barrier during visitation.
Curtis sighed and stood up. "Alice, this is on me. I should've guided you better. But now, you need to own up to your mistakes. If you did something wrong, you have to face the consequences. The law has to deal with this. I'll be here when you get out."
Avery was shocked. "What are you saying? Are you giving up on Alice? She's still so young; she can't go to jail!"
Curtis replied, "It's your spoiling that got her here. She tried to kill someone! Do you really think money can fix this? Be thankful Natalie is okay and Daniel isn't seriously hurt. If something worse had happened, Alice wouldn't just be going to jail; our family would be done for."
If Natalie or Daniel had died, Alice wouldn't just be facing jail time; the Howard family would come after the Cullen family hard.
Even though the Cullen Group is doing better now, the Howard Group could crush it whenever they wanted.
Curtis used to think Alice was just jealous and spoiled, but he never imagined she'd commit murder. Realizing how serious this was, Curtis left with a final remark, "I hope you can reflect on your mistakes here," and walked away, disappointed.
Alice looked at Avery. "Mom, does Dad not want me anymore?"
Avery held Alice's hand tightly. "He doesn't want either of us anymore. Curtis has been bewitched by that witch Rosalie. Even though Rosalie is in a coma and won't wake up, he's still thinking about her. Luckily, that witch Rosalie is now a vegetable."
Alice stopped hiding the truth. "Mom, it was me. I hit her from behind."
Avery's eyes widened. "Stop talking."
She was afraid there were cameras around. She looked at Alice and understood that Alice had helped her get rid of Rosalie. "Alice."
"Mom, without Rosalie, you can be happy, and I will be too. If only Natalie were gone, we would all be happy."
Seeing Alice's desolate state, Avery cried, knowing the situation was set in stone.
The powerful Howard family and the country's laws couldn't be ignored. Alice was definitely going to jail.
Avery's visitation time was up, and the police outside urged her to leave.
Curtis didn't wait for her; he drove off by himself.
Avery walked back alone, stumbling along the way.
When she got home, she found Curtis's car parked at the door.
Curtis was upstairs packing, coming down with a suitcase.
Avery rushed over. "Are you leaving?"
After this incident, Curtis knew Avery's nature was unchangeable. He looked at Avery, the wife he had been with for 25 years. This face, once beloved, now felt unfamiliar.
