Chapter 1398 Let's Have a Child
"Absolutely, Dad. The doc says you're doing pretty well now."
"Yeah, Dad. Your last check-up was all good. Just gotta keep an eye on your heart."
Ruben smiled faintly. "I know, I know. You don't have to comfort me."
But he seemed downcast, missing Rachel. Ruben's energy was low, and he felt tired. He stood up and, with Jeffery's help, went upstairs to rest.
Natalie pursed her lips, gazing at the empty seat across from her. That used to be Rachel's spot. Since Rachel disappeared, it had become Donte's.
Natalie felt a pang of nostalgia.
Donte noticed and gently reminded her, "Hey, Natalie, your lipstick's a bit smudged."
Natalie took out a tissue, dabbed at her lips, and replied, "Thanks."
On the other side, Andrea watched as Donte kept his eyes on Natalie after she looked down.
Andrea bit her lip. What was it about Natalie? Adrian liked her, Daniel liked her, and now even Donte seemed drawn to her.
It felt like the entire Howard family revolved around her.
And she, Andrea, felt like she was invisible.
Ever since Rachel disappeared, everyone was focused on finding her, completely overlooking Andrea.
Even Jamie.
Jamie hadn't come home for two weeks.
Andrea felt abandoned.
She never expected Rachel's disappearance to affect Jamie so much.
Thankfully, Jamie didn't know that the woman who wrote him those letters back then was Rachel, not her.
That night, back at Bayview Villa, Adrian was downstairs giving Lucky a bath.
Natalie walked over, and Lucky excitedly shook his fur, sending water droplets flying.
Natalie stepped aside slightly, and Adrian stood up to shield her.
Natalie said, "I came to see if you needed any help."
"Not right now. You can go watch TV outside. Violette's still binge-watching your show."
"I'll help you wash him. It'll go faster that way."
This big dog usually took two hours to bathe at the pet store. The two of them spent over an hour washing Lucky.
"I'm leaving tomorrow. Once I finish filming this drama, I'll take a break for a while." On the couch, Natalie leaned against Adrian's shoulder as they watched one of her old period dramas on TV.
"I thought you loved acting. Or is there no suitable project?"
"It's not that. I just..." Natalie looked at him, her cheeks slightly flushed. "I want us to have a baby."
Adrian was taken aback, then his eyes lit up with joy. "Okay."
The second season of *My Heart, Bright Moon* started filming.
A week after Natalie joined the crew, on a Saturday, the Golden Deer Awards, one of the three major film awards, were set to announce the winners. Natalie was invited and would attend the festival that afternoon.
Heather was with her the entire time, cheering her on.
"Of the five actresses nominated this time, I think you have the best chance, Natalie. *Rising Winds* has been a hit both at the box office and with critics, and it's been a hot topic online. Samuel's also nominated for Best Actor."
Natalie's palms were sweaty with nerves. "I hope so. Honestly, just being nominated is great. I'm already so grateful; it's recognition of my acting."
Natalie was wearing a handcrafted pink dress with intricate embroidery by Matilda.
The waist was adorned with red roses.
A pink ribbon woven into her hair added a playful, lively touch.
