Chapter 840 Drunkenness
Yancy whipped up a drink and handed it to Natalie. It had this natural strawberry sweetness, with a whole strawberry floating inside and just a hint of 6% alcohol.
Natalie took a sip and thought it was pretty good. She always figured Yancy was just a lazy boss, but it turned out he was a surprisingly good at mixing drinks.
Heather chuckled from the side. "How is it? Not bad, right? When this place is open, Yancy's drinks are pricier, but they always sell out. People specifically come here just for his cocktails."
Natalie nodded. "It's really good."
Even someone like Natalie, who wasn’t big on drinking, could appreciate the cocktail's sweetness.
Bella had a few more drinks.
Natalie gently suggested, "Maybe slow down a bit."
Even though Yancy made Bella a cocktail with barely any alcohol, more like fruit juice with a kick, too much of anything wouldn't be great.
Bella nodded. She hadn’t actually drunk much, considering her hard-earned baby. With Austin in a coma, the baby was all she had.
Yesterday, when she got back to the Swan Mansion and saw her parents' worried faces, Bella almost broke down.
Austin's condition wasn’t a secret.
Marissa wanted Bella to come back home. Marissa had been against her marriage in the first place. They didn’t want to trade Bella’s happiness for an investment. But by then, Bella had fallen for Austin. She told Marissa that marrying someone she loved was a kind of happiness.
But no one saw it coming when Austin’s condition suddenly took a turn for the worse.
Bella thought about all this as she leaned against the booth, the flashing lights casting different glows. The music played in her ears, and the small bar had its own charm. Going out with friends she liked when feeling down was a good thing.
Bella raised her glass and said, "To tomorrow, may it be better."
The four of them raised their glasses as followed.
Each made a wish for their own, but they all smiled.
Later that evening, Adrian called Natalie. Her voice sounded tipsy. Then she went back home, teetering on the threshold of her house in a misty trance.
Adrian was already in the living room. Seeing Natalie leaning against the door to change her shoes, he went to the kitchen and brought back a drink to help sober her up.
Natalie wasn’t wearing makeup today, her bare face looking fresh and beautiful. She stumbled over with a smile, her cheeks rosy from the drinks.
Adrian naturally wrapped his arm around her waist and handed her the tea.
Natalie took a sip; it had a slightly sweet and sour lemon taste with a bit of bitterness. She didn’t like it and pushed it away. She hadn’t drunk much.
Adrian looked at her with a mix of helplessness and affection. Noticing her shoes were on the wrong feet—a pair of fluffy pink bunny slippers—he bent down and fixed them.
Natalie let out a small hiccup and lay down on the couch, her eyes a bit dreamy. "Adrian, do you think we'll have a baby?"
Natalie was actually very envious of Bella for her great fortune to have a baby with the man she loved.
She also wanted to have a baby with Adrian.
