Chapter 701 The Final Decision
Even though two big shots got nabbed, business at Dynamic Entertainment Media just kept on truckin' like nothing happened.
It was like it didn't even make a dent. Everything was already locked in.
Being an old hand at the company, Finnian naturally slid into the president's chair.
When he got the news, Finnian was so stoked he couldn't sleep for days, buzzing with excitement. Even after signing all the papers and making it official, he still felt like he was dreaming.
Finnian had only ever hoped to hang onto his VP gig, never in a million years thinking he'd end up as the president of Dynamic Entertainment Media. However, his dream was coming true so fast.
First thing he did was call Natalie.
"Natalie," Finnian said in a low voice, trying to sound all respectful.
Natalie picked up, "Yeah?"
Finnian spilled the beans, "The Howard Group folks just came by and signed everything. From now on, I'm the big boss at Dynamic Entertainment. Herman and Lucas are definitely looking at some jail time."
Natalie shot back, "Congrats, Mr. Harrington."
Finnian, feeling all grateful, said, "It's all thanks to you, Natalie. I hope you'll keep having my back."
Natalie replied, "As long as you don't pull the same crap as Lucas and Herman, you'll keep that president seat warm."
Finnian quickly promised, "Absolutely. I can't stand what Herman did. I've already made it right with the actresses he messed with and will make sure they get some good gigs and support."
Natalie thought that was a solid move. "Okay."
Even though it was just a simple "okay," Finnian felt like he got a big thumbs up.
Finnian said, "Natalie, if you need anything, just holler. I'll get it done."
Natalie said, "Actually, I do need something."
Finnian nodded. "Shoot."
Natalie asked, "With Herman in the slammer and you promoted, there are two VP spots open. Any word on that?"
Finnian replied, "Looks like it'll be Mindy and Karen. Both have good track records and are old-timers here. Lydia's done well with a low-budget web series, but she's still kinda green."
Natalie said, "That doesn't sound solid candidates to me.'"
Finnian's heart skipped a beat. "Your opinions?"
Natalie continued, "Mindy's too sneaky and all about the politics. I don't recommend her."
Finnian replied, "Understood."
So, there was only vacant position left.
Finnian asked, "What about Karen and Heather?"
Natalie had originally thought Karen and Lydia would be a good fit for the VP roles with Mindy out of the picture.
Heather was the least experienced, having just joined as an executive agent.
But Heather had always been good to her and had her back.
A few months ago, Natalie might've thought Heather would climb the ladder eventually. But now, after seeing the industry's dirty side, she figured if a jerk like Herman could be VP, why not Heather?
Natalie asked, "Finnian, would this be a problem for you?"
Finnian quickly said, "Nope. Don't worry, Natalie."
Natalie said, "Good, I'll leave it to you then."
After hanging up, Finnian let out a big sigh of relief.
If he couldn't handle this, being president would be pointless. In Natalie's eyes, he'd be a useless figurehead, and she'd never trust him again.
