Chapter 267 Origins (2)

A business sedan pulled up at the door.

When Curtis walked in, he saw Renee tumbling down the stairs. He then heard Alice's screams from upstairs and rushed up.

Alice, crying, said, "Dad, you have to help me. Natalie is bullying me."

Since the hospital incident, Natalie hadn't seen Curtis. The kind image she had of him was gone, but Curtis still felt guilty about Natalie.

Thinking of Stanley always troubled his conscience.

Curtis frowned at Alice's messy appearance. "Alice, what happened? Did you get hurt?"

Alice, staring at the clumps of hair torn from her head and scattered on the floor, screamed, "Dad, it was Natalie. She broke in and stole my stuff. Look, she even attacked me like this."

Curtis felt sorry for Alice. "She's part of the Cullen family. Living here for years doesn't count as breaking in. But what did she take?"

Alice clutched the pendant around her neck. "This pendant was given to me by Adrian, but Natalie stole it. I got it back, and now she wants it again!"

Natalie smirked at Alice. "You're really shameless, Alice."

Curtis asked, "What pendant?"

Alice hid behind Curtis, afraid Natalie would snatch it from her. She showed it to Curtis, whose eyes widened in shock. His expression changed, and he clenched his fist, staring at the diamond pendant around Alice's neck.

"Alice, where did you get this pendant?" He tried to mask his emotions, but his voice trembled.

"Mr. Howard gave it to me, but Natalie hid it." Alice shook Curtis's arm, sobbing. "Dad, help me, look how badly I've been bullied!"

Curtis looked at Natalie, who stood three meters away, her expression disdainful. "You say this pendant is yours," he asked, trying to keep his voice steady. "Where did you get it?"

"My mother left it to me," Natalie said calmly. "It has my fingerprints; you can check."

Curtis stepped forward. "Rosalie gave it to you."

Alice saw Curtis's expression change and feared he'd side with Natalie. She quickly called Avery, exaggerating the situation, "Mom, Natalie came to snatch the diamond pendant Adrian gave me. She insists it was left to her by Rosalie. Dad's face changed when he heard Rosalie's name. Mom, come back quickly; this pendant is very important to me!"

Avery, hearing this, immediately said goodbye to her friends and rushed back, Rosalie's name echoing in her mind.
