Chapter 1152 Rooftop Barbecue
The car stopped at the entrance of the Old Radiant Sky Mall parking lot.
Natalie and Heather, wearing hard hats, walked inside. The place was under construction, with many areas needing changes. A lot of walls had been demolished, and the entire structure of the Old Radiant Sky Mall needed to be revamped.
Even with masks on, the smell of dust was strong as they walked in.
The construction crew was hard at work inside.
Natalie and Heather walked around a few times and saw Derek. Heather called out, "Derek."
Derek, wearing a mask and a hat and holding blueprints, seemed to be discussing something with the construction crew. He heard his name, turned around, and saw Natalie and Heather on the third floor. Derek nodded at them from a distance, signaling them to wait a moment as he would come over soon.
Originally, the fifth and sixth floors of Old Radiant Sky Mall were dedicated to gastronomy, and there were a few cafés on the third floor.
The group found a spot and chatted briefly, though the construction noise outside was loud.
Derek said, "Ms. Teeger, you have a good taste. I discussed with a few construction foremen, and we've added more manpower. This place is expected to be renovated within three months, and the final product will be great."
Derek took out a tablet to show Natalie the renderings.
Heather smiled and said, "I didn't realize you knew so much about this, Derek."
Derek scratched his head. "I just learned it recently."
"Let's go out to eat; I'm starving." Heather said, putting her arm around Natalie's shoulder. "Can we go eat now?"
"Sure, let's go." Natalie said, looking at Derek. "Join us."
"I need to wrap things up here, but I'll be quick. Have you decided what to eat?" Seeing them shake their heads, Derek thought for a moment. "Ms. Teeger can't be exposed in the public too frequently. How about we go to that barbecue place at the end of the street? It's owned by a friend of mine, and there's a private room upstairs. I'll contact him, and you can go straight to the second-floor private room."
"Alright, we'll head over first."
Natalie and Heather rarely got a chance to relax, especially Natalie, who had been in the hospital recently. Although Natalie had returned to the Howard Mansion, it still felt suffocating. Heather had been busy with work, as if only constant work could keep her from thinking about Yancy.
The barbecue place was unique. Natalie and Heather went up to the second floor, expecting a private room but finding an open rooftop instead.
Wooden planks provided some privacy, and there were about seven tables.
The owner's wife came up and said, "This is our specialty, rooftop barbecue. It's not crowded today. Derek told me to reserve the rooftop for you, so no one will disturb you."
Natalie looked around and found the view quite nice.
From there, they could see the Old Radiant Sky Mall and the bustling streets.
"What would you like to eat? Our barbecue is different from other places. The dipping sauce is our secret recipe; you won't find it anywhere else." the owner's wife said.
Heather looked at the menu. "I have to give it a try."
With that, Heather started ordering.
After a few minutes, Natalie said, "Alright, let's start with these. We can order more if it's not enough."
Heather closed the menu. "That'll be it and bring us a few bottles of cold beer."
"Got it." The owner's wife took the menu and left.
