Chapter 1194 Is She Really that Similar to Natalie?
Ruben snorted, "Yeah, right. I wouldn't let you marry Natalie, and you ended up kneeling in my bedroom, refusing to leave."
Adrian held a chess piece, "I don't remember that. Really?"
"Would I lie to you? You're suffering from amnesia now, which is unfair to Natalie. You married the wrong person from the start. If it weren't for that, you and Natalie would have been together long ago."
"I've heard bits and pieces about that Alice situation. Is she really that similar to Natalie? So much so that we could mistake one for the other?"
"They do look very similar. My old eyes were fooled; I thought they were the same person."
Adrian said, "In that case, it's not surprising we got it wrong. Let's just consider it a debt to Natalie. There's still plenty of time ahead; maybe I'll regain my memory someday."
"Adrian, whether you regain your memory or not, I hope you and Natalie can live well together. I've seen you and Natalie go through a lot. It's not been easy. Now that you have amnesia, if Natalie does anything wrong, you need to be tolerant. She is your wife, understand?"
"I understand, Grandpa."
"I'm getting old. Who knows when I'll pass away? I still want to see you and Natalie's child born. I want to have a great-grandchild."
Adrian said, "Grandpa, you're strong and healthy. You're only in your eighties; you're still young."
"You little rascal, I'm almost ninety. What youth are you talking about? My body is what it is; I don't have many years left. I'm satisfied with this age. The only thing is, I want to see you and Natalie have a child, so I can have a great-grandchild."
At this moment, Jeffery's voice came, "Mr. Ruben Howard, Mr. Adrian Howard, Ms. Lawson is here."
Adrian placed the chess piece down, "Grandpa, you lost."
Ruben laughed, "You rascal, playing seriously with me, not even letting me win a bit."
"Grandpa, you were letting me win, that's why I won."
"I'm old, not as good as you young folks. I lost, I lost."
Andrea walked in, "Grandpa, Adrian, I prepared some pastries for you to try."
Ruben looked at Andrea, his eyes filled with affection and complexity. He had always liked this child, and the Howard family owed Andrea too much.
If it weren't for Andrea's rescue back then, Adrian might not have come back. And because of that incident, Andrea was in a coma for seven years. The Howard family indeed owed Andrea too much.
At his age, Ruben could see through people.
Ruben could tell that Andrea had different feelings for Adrian, but Adrian only saw her as a sister and had already married Natalie.
For a moment, Ruben had no perfect solution.
Andrea said, "I just went to the Howard mansion. Natalie was there too. I brought some pastries for her as well." As she spoke, she glanced at Adrian's expression.
Adrian seemed entirely focused on the chess game, showing no particular emotion towards Natalie. Andrea said, "But it seems Natalie doesn't like these pastries."
She said this while handing a piece to Adrian.
Adrian took it and had a bite, "Everyone has different tastes."
Ruben said, "Andrea's skills are getting better and better. Delicious. You should come by more often, let me see you more."
Andrea nodded, "Sure, Andrea also wants to stay by Grandpa's side, chat with Grandpa, and play chess with Grandpa."
