Chapter 549 Camera
Kent hesitated. Yancy dropping 300 grand like it was nothing meant Frank had something real juicy. Were there others sniffing around for Frank, too? If they were ready to throw down big bucks, saying yes to Yancy now would be a dumb move.
Yancy sneered at Kent's hesitation.
He knew exactly what was going through Kent's head. "Mr. King, money makes you cool and all, but you gotta be alive to spend it. Your brother-in-law's the VP at Vachilit Insurance, right? If folks found out about the shady stuff he's done for you, both of you could be looking at a long time behind bars."
Kent always had the borrower sign an insurance agreement upfront.
With the dates and compound interest, if the borrower couldn't pay up, Kent would break their legs or chop off their fingers and use the insurance payout to cover the loan.
Kent had been running this game for years.
But with his deep connections, he never got caught.
Kent didn't expect Yancy to pull this card. He immediately grinned. "Yancy, you got me. I get it. Don't worry, I'll do what you want."
After hanging up, Kent spat and cursed, "Yancy dares to threaten me!"
A subordinate walked up. "Want us to teach Yancy a lesson?"
Kent replied, "He's a snake. He might look all polished, but he's not someone to mess with."
The subordinate asked, "So, we just gonna let this slide? Let Yancy off the hook?"
Kent said, "Let him off? No way. Not many dare to threaten me. Teach him a lesson on the down-low, but don't leave any traces. Don't let Yancy catch wind; he's not someone to mess with."
The subordinate said, "Got it, leave it to us."
In the private room, Heather pulled out some photos, asking, "This guy in the photos, it's you, right?"
Frank glanced at them. These were from his fling with Alice a few years back.
He nodded.
Heather had a pinhole camera on her chest button, recording everything.
Heather kept pressing, "Who's the woman in the photos?"
Frank had promised Alice, and even took her money, to say the woman in the photos was some random chick named Natalie. Now, facing Heather's grilling, Frank hesitated, unsure whether to spill the truth or lie.
Heather frowned. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just need a sec to think. It was years ago, like three or four years at least." Frank glanced at Heather's chest, thinking she had a killer figure. His gaze lingered.
Heather noticed. She hated creeps like him, but she held it together. "Who's the woman in the photos? If you don't wanna say, you might as well go back to Mr. King."
At the mention of Kent, Frank's face went pale.
He quickly said, "It's Alice."
When he said it was Alice, Heather positioned herself right in front of Frank, the pinhole camera on her chest button aimed straight at him.
Heather asked, "You sure?"
Frank nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I'm sure."
