Chapter 226 She was Lost (Part 2)
Natalie didn't dare go deeper; she was scared of getting lost in the jungle. That would be a nightmare.
No one had cleared the area. Who knew what kind of poisonous snakes or bugs might be lurking?
She had been walking for hours.
It was supposed to take just a few hours to reach the 'treasure' from the jungle adventure entrance. But she hadn't seen anyone ahead. There was only one explanation.
Natalie's eyes widened. She was already deep in the jungle, beyond the maintained area.
She clenched her fingers tight. A cold wind blew behind her.
Her lips trembled. She was lost. No matter how calm she usually was, she couldn't make it now!
She thought, 'Will I die here? No! I can't die here. Rosalie is still waiting for me! I have promised to take Rosalie to a beautiful, cozy place. Rosalie is still in the hospital.'
She tossed the useless items from her backpack, including some sunscreen and a broken compass. She had to conserve her energy.
Adrian held a flashlight, scanning the path ahead. His usually calm face showed a hint of panic. He walked quickly, shouting, "Natalie! Natalie!"
Adrian's phone vibrated.
Colby said, "Adrian, you need to come out. It's going to rain tonight; the jungle conditions will be bad. Come out first, and we'll figure out a plan."
Adrian didn't turn back, still walking forward, his voice anxious. "We must find her! Colby, you said it would rain. The temperature difference between day and night on Pearl Island is huge. After midnight, it'll get cold in the jungle. If she's trapped, she won't last long."
Colby said, "Loren has already contacted the rescue team; they'll be here soon."
Adrian said, "Where's Natalie's location? Send it to me."
Colby replied, "We can't find her location. Her phone seems to be out of contact."
Adrian's face turned pale, and he pressed his lips together. He was about to hang up when Colby urgently said, "Adrian, be careful and stay in touch."
Adrian responded, "Okay."
"What? Natalie hasn't come out yet!" Daniel grabbed his backpack, ready to rush into the jungle.
"Mr. Murphy! It's dangerous; don't go in." Stephanie immediately stopped him. "The rescue team has already gone in. Let's go back. If we wait too long, the waves will come in, and we won't be able to take the yacht!"
"No, I can't leave!" Daniel pushed Stephanie aside and took a few steps forward. Loren came over, wiping his sweat. Adrian had already gone in. If Daniel rushed in and something happened, he would be in big trouble as the project leader.
Loren said, "Mr. Murphy, you absolutely cannot go in."
Loren desperately tried to stop Daniel. Daniel was anxious and helpless. "Let me go, Loren!"
Loren had two people to hold Daniel back. He couldn't let Daniel go in. Night had already fallen; who knew what might happen in the jungle? If anything happened, it would be unimaginable!
"Let me go; I need to find Natalie!" Daniel was extremely anxious.
Loren said, "Mr. Howard has already gone in. Mr. Murphy, you'd better go back. Staying here won't help. The more people go in, the more dangerous it gets. Leave it to the professional rescue team."
