Chapter 1055 Buying the Shares

Natalie didn't really care about this stuff, but Wendy sure did.

After thinking for a bit, Natalie said, "Get in touch with her and buy Wendy's shares under Heather's name."

Finnian nodded. "Got it."

He knew Heather and Natalie were tight. Natalie wanted to help Heather snag more shares in Dynamic Entertainment. Since Wendy was offering, Natalie wasn't about to pass up the chance.

Heather, as the VP of Dynamic Entertainment, already had 10% of the shares. With Wendy's shares added, she'd be the third biggest shareholder, right after the major shareholder and Finnian. Heather's spot in the company was rock solid.

Heather had been feeling pretty down lately. After Natalie's wedding, she buried herself in work, staying in her office all day. Even at night, she'd rather work overtime than think about Yancy.

Yancy's image was stuck in her head, making it hard for her to breathe.

"Ms. Ross, here's a script for a show starting next month. The second female lead had a falling out with the producer and left. The role's open now. It's a classical drama, and the director and screenwriter are top-notch. I think we should recommend Phoenix Fuller," Heather's assistant said.

Phoenix was a newbie Heather had signed, showing a lot of promise. Heather had given her a few chances, especially in classical roles where she shined.

Heather nodded. "Sure, set it up."

"Ms. Ross, it's getting late. Aren't you wrapping up for the day? You've been working overtime a lot. Is something bothering you?"

Heather rubbed her temples and looked at her assistant, Calista Day. Calista was a young, new assistant who had caught Heather's eye in HR. She was smart and quick, reminding Heather of herself when she first started in the industry. "It's nothing. Don't worry, Calista. You can head home."

Calista shook her head. "Ms. Ross, I'll stay with you. I'm bored at home anyway. Might as well work and make some extra cash."

Calista left the office.

Heather felt a headache coming on. She took a swig from her stainless steel tumbler, the burn of the liquor momentarily easing the pain.

At 8 PM, Heather left the Dynamic Entertainment building.

She headed to a nearby bar she frequented so often that the bartender knew her.

Heather sat down and put her bag beside her. "The usual."

"Alright, miss, just a moment," the bartender said.

About ten minutes later, her drink was ready.

Heather tilted her head back and downed it, one glass after another, trying to get drunk and not think about Yancy.

The bar was loud and chaotic. Heather squinted, looking around, and saw a few people walk in. Her thoughts were a jumbled mess, flitting from one thing to another.  She glanced at the time; it was already 10 PM. She should head back.

Heather paid the bill and was about to leave when a thug approached her.

"Drinking alone, miss?"

Heather had run into a few thugs at the bar lately. She shook off his hand. "Get lost."
