Chapter 850 Wanting to Make a Comeback
Diana pulled out her phone and started looking up news about "The Nameless Road." Tons of positive reviews popped up. She checked the box office rankings; "The Nameless Road" had the highest attendance rate, with the big IP movie "Chase Sound" coming in second. But "Chase Sound" was raking in more money, already over $1.5 billion and still climbing, expected to hit $1.7 billion soon. Surprisingly, the second place wasn't the romantic flick "For You, My World," but "The Nameless Road," which had only been out for four days and already made $1 billion.
Diana handed the phone to Alice.
Alice glanced at the rankings and almost threw the phone in anger.
She thought, 'How could a movie with such an average team do so well? It's like they cheated their way to the top! How is this even possible?'
Alice's chest heaved, and she gritted her teeth. "Chris was just an assistant director. How did he just take off?"
Diana wanted to comfort her but wasn't sure how.
Thinking about Natalie seducing Adrian, Diana said unctuously, "Alice, don't stress. What good is high box office revenue? Even if Natalie’s movie is doing well, you're still Mrs. Howard. No matter how successful she gets, she's still beneath you. When you were Ms. Cullen, she was just a servant eating leftovers. Now, even if she seduces Adrian, she’s just a mistress, and you’re the legitimate wife."
Diana knew Alice's temper well.
Sure enough, Alice's expression softened. "You're right. What good is high box office revenue? Once I’m back, I’ll get any resources I want. Whatever Natalie has, I'll take it. With me at Dynamic Entertainment, she can only pick up the scraps."
Diana asked, "Alice, how’s your health?"
Alice replied innocently, "Nothing serious, just a minor surgery. I'll be out next week."
Alice's wound still hurt, but thinking about Natalie's movie's success made her even more determined.
She thought, 'I need to recover well and get back to my luxurious life and acting career. I’ve lost two kids for the Howard family; Adrian has to feel sorry for me. It wasn’t my fault I had an ectopic pregnancy. Plus, I lost my first child saving Claire. I won’t let her forget that.'
Alice took out her phone and called Karen.
She asked Karen to set up her comeback in two weeks.
On the other end, Karen frowned. "You want to come back? Aren't you pregnant?"
Alice said the baby was gone and asked Karen to plan her return ASAP.
Karen was a bit troubled. Since Alice had been pregnant and resting at the Howard family’s place, Karen had been grooming new talent and had everything planned out. Alice’s sudden return would throw a wrench in her plans.
Karen said, "Alice, don’t rush. For your comeback, the higher-ups at Dynamic Entertainment need to have a meeting to discuss it."
Alice asked, "What’s there to discuss?"
Karen said, "Because your status is different, we need to make a plan for you. You’re not like other artists who can just come back whenever they want." This was no joke.
