Natalie was floored. She'd only met Claire a few times, and here she was, thinking Natalie was some kind of schemer.

In Alice's eyes, Natalie could never do anything right.
Natalie asked, "So, Mrs. Howard, what kind of person do you think I am?"
Claire looked at Natalie. Her face was delicate, her skin smooth and fine, with light makeup that still highlighted her enduring beauty and a cool aura. Claire's first impression of Natalie wasn't bad.
"Natalie, I feel sorry for you. Coming from a poor family, you work very hard and try to seize every opportunity, even if it means using any means necessary. You did save Ruben, which seemed very kind, but you're too calculating. You used a face resembling to Alice's to seduce Adrian and attract his attention. Claire acted quickly. The next day an armored truck arrived at Natalie's apartment, and four people carried several bags of cash into her home.

It fitted on a table in the living room.
Claire's lawyer also came. He handed over the transfer document.
It clearly stated that Claire wouldn't sue Natalie and that the transfer was voluntary. He hoped Natalie would read it carefully and keep her promise by signing it.
This was to prevent Claire from regretting it and accusing Natalie of extortion. Natalie signed it.
The lawyer said, "Ms. Teeger, Mrs. Howard has instructed that you fulfill your promise as soon as possible."
Natalie nodded. "Okay. It says here that I will break up with Adrian voluntarily. I will do that. Don't worry."
Natalie absolutely would break up with Adrian. But whether Adrian would agree, Natalie didn't know.
After signing the agreement, Natalie sat on the couch, looking at the ten million dollars.
She thought about how, when she used to work, she couldn't bear to spend even a thousand dollars frivolously.
Natalie picked up a stack of cash. She suddenly laughed. Her delicate, beautiful eyes were full of mockery. 'What can money do? Can money solve everything?'
Natalie fell asleep on the couch, surrounded by the scent of money. At 7 PM, she was awakened by the sound of her phone ringing.
She fumbled around and found her phone under a pillow.
It was a call from Adrian.
Natalie answered the call. "Hello."
Adrian asked promptly, "Are you home?"
Natalie mumbled, "Yes, I'm off today."
Adrian croaked, "I'm coming over. Dinner yet?"
Natalie had slept until now. "Not yet."
Adrian uttered, "Wait for me to get back."
