Chapter 344 Attentive Care
Rosalie dressed simply, and the receptionist gave her a once-over. "Here to apply for the cleaner job?"
Rosalie, holding a lunchbox, replied, "No, I'm here to see Alice. I've been here before, but the receptionist then had blonde hair."
The receptionist asked, "You mean Ms. Cullen?"
She made a quick call and then nodded. "Take the elevator up one floor. She's in lounge 1606."
"Thanks a lot," Rosalie said, heading to the elevator.
The receptionist watched her go, puzzled. Rosalie seemed too plain. Maybe she was Alice's nanny?
This was Dynamic Entertainment, a top media company in Vachilit under the Howard Group, handling film and TV.
Alice, Adrian's fiancée, was pregnant and wanted to break into the entertainment industry. The Howard Group backed her, despite Claire and Melissa's reservations. Adrian didn't mind Alice joining the industry, so Claire ensured Dynamic Entertainment managed her career.
Alice, seven months pregnant, was only doing commercials after wrapping up "Happiness Like a Song." She wasn't in it for the money but for the fame and public adoration.
Who doesn't want to be adored?
Alice sat on the sofa, listening to Karen outline next week's schedule.
"Commercials again? And the titles are so low," Alice complained.
Karen, worried Alice might be upset, quickly explained, "Ms. Cullen, these are connections from Dynamic Entertainment. You don't have any major works yet, so the titles are low. But the providers promised heavy promotion and hired famous photographer Celeste White."
"Fine," Alice said, pursing her lips. "What about that luxury brand endorsement?"
Karen replied, "Still negotiating. Their PR team said they can only offer a promotional title for now. After you recover post-pregnancy, they'll make you the endorser. With your new show, the timing will be perfect."
Alice nodded. "Got it."
Karen added, "The top title for this brand in Vistalia is held by Best Actress Amara Taylor. Even Serena is just a brand ambassador. You'll start as a promotional ambassador and become the regional endorser when the show airs."
Alice, satisfied, nodded. She had entered the industry out of envy for Serena, and now her starting point was much higher.
Karen took a call and told Alice, "Your nanny is here again."
"She's here?" Alice, applying nail polish, looked up. "Let her in."
Two minutes later, Rosalie entered with the lunchbox. Though she'd been here often, she still felt uneasy. "Ms. Cullen, I made some chicken soup for you. Please try it."
Rosalie had been bringing Alice food and nourishing soups almost daily. Initially, Alice was dismissive, but she couldn't deny Rosalie's cooking was good. Growing up, Rosalie had always been there for her, protecting her from Avery's scoldings and Curtis's punishments, even sneaking her chocolate to comfort her.
