Chapter 262 Birthday Party
Natalie picked out a Lego set for Bella's younger brother, Gordon, at the downtown mall. As she left the store with a paper bag, a woman in GUCCI sunglasses approached her.
The woman smiled. "Ms. Cullen, what a coincidence! Are you here for Lego too? I saw a limited edition set recently. If you like it, I can get it for you."
Natalie didn't recognize her but guessed she was wealthy and knew Alice. "You've got the wrong person."
"No, I haven't, Ms. Cullen," the woman insisted. "I mentioned before that I hope you can speak to Mr. Howard for us. We will show the utmost sincerity..."
Natalie interrupted her, "Look closely. Am I Alice?"
The woman stared at her, puzzled, realizing Natalie did look different from Alice.
Natalie left the store and took a cab to the Spring Banquet Restaurant. After getting out, she felt something was off but decided to focus on celebrating Gordon's birthday.
Gordon was starting high school this year. Natalie had seen him a few times at Bella's house; he was a sunny and handsome young boy.
At the restaurant, Natalie texted Bella, who was waiting for her on the second-floor staircase.
Bella linked arms with her upon seeing her. "What gift did you get him? He doesn't need any of this."
A clear voice chimed in, "Who says I don't need it?"
Gordon, tall and slim in a tracksuit, walked over. "Bella, the gift is for me, not you."
Bella teased him, "Who let you out here?"
"Mom and Dad asked me to greet you," Gordon said, taking the gift from Natalie. "Thanks for the Lego set, Natalie. I'll assemble it tomorrow and send you a picture."
Natalie smiled. "Okay."
Gordon, eyes flickering, asked, "Natalie, when's your birthday? I'll get you a gift too."
Bella pinched his arm. "You can't even remember my birthday. I have to remind you every time. How could you remember hers?"
"Hey, Bella, you're too temperamental," Gordon said, hiding behind Natalie. His fingers rested on her shoulder, and he blushed as he caught the scent of her hair. He took a deep breath and continued dodging Bella.
Natalie smiled, holding Bella back as Gordon ran off, yelling, "Bella, your temper is too bad. No wonder you don't have a boyfriend yet. Look at Natalie, she's so good-tempered."
Bella retorted, "Then Natalie should be your sister."
Gordon replied, "I wish, but I don't have a choice..."
Bella shot back, "Gordon, I'll get you, you brat!"
Gordon called out, "Oh, Natalie, save me."
Natalie chuckled, watching them playfully fight.
After some roughhousing, the three of them entered the private room.
