Chapter 342 Rosalie Wants to Leave
It was late at night, and a car sped down the road.
Inside, Colby leaned back with his eyes closed. The driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror, saw he was asleep, and made a call.
"Artie, it's done. Heading to Greenwood Hotel now."
Greenwood Hotel in Vachilit was a budget spot, popular with travelers and business folks, with rooms costing $50 to $100 a night.
A tall guy helped a young man in a suit inside. Aria Day was at the front desk. "Need any help, sir?"
"Room 306," the man replied.
Aria grabbed a key and followed them.
In the elevator, she noticed the tall guy struggling with the drunk man and offered a hand, blushing as she saw the handsome man's face.
At room 306, Aria swiped the key card.
The tall guy got the drunk man inside. Aria asked, "Anything else you need?"
"No, that's all." He shut the door. Aria caught a whiff of cologne and thought, 'Why's a rich, handsome guy at this small hotel?'
The tall guy made another call. Twenty minutes later, another man brought a drunk woman in.
"Is it her?" the tall guy asked.
"Yep, knocked her out and brought her here. Job's done, let's go."
They placed the woman next to Colby on the bed.
"Almost forgot," the tall guy said, lighting a scented candle from his pocket.
"Artie said if they're both out, light this. Doubles the aphrodisiac effect. Let's go before they wake up."
They left the hotel.
Inside, a faint scent filled the room. The curtains fluttered, casting dappled shadows on the entwined figures in the bed.
"Natalie, didn't you say you'd be home early? Why so late? I made supper," Rosalie said as Natalie walked in. She was watching TV but stood up with a smile.
"Mom, why aren't you asleep?" Natalie asked, putting down her things and changing her shoes.
Rosalie went to heat up the supper. Natalie was about to shower but heard Rosalie call out, "Natalie, let's go to Silvervale Town."
Natalie paused, changed into pajamas, and went to the kitchen.
"Mom, what did you say?"
Rosalie repeated, "You always wanted to leave Vachilit. Let's go to Silvervale Town."
Natalie sipped some soup.
"Mom, you said there was no rush before."
Rosalie wasn't in a hurry before, but now, she wanted to leave.
