Chapter 770 Now That's Interesting.

Colby said, "No way it's fake. You'd figure it out eventually. Could it be Carlos's?"

Adrian let out a cold laugh, remembering what his assistant had dug up about Carlos visiting Alice's hotel during filming. A sly grin spread across Adrian's thin lips. "Well, that's interesting."

The next morning, Natalie awoke.

Her throat felt like sandpaper.

She sat up, feeling sore and weak all over. Even breathing was a chore.

Natalie figured she had a fever and a nasty cold.

She touched her forehead and felt a fever patch.

As she sat up, the fever patch fell onto the bed.

"You're awake," Adrian's raspy voice came from beside her.

Adrian's long arms wrapped around her waist, and she leaned back into his embrace, listening to his strong heartbeat.

He kissed her forehead. "How are you feeling? Still  rough?"

Natalie felt worse than yesterday.

She didn't want to get Adrian sick.

"Don't kiss me. I think I have a cold," she said, her voice scratchy. Her throat was killing her.

Adrian's dry palm touched her cheek and then her forehead.

He frowned, thinking, 'Still hot. Why isn't Colby's medicine working?'

He held her tighter. "Still feeling bad? Sleep a bit more. When you wake up, we'll eat and take the medicine."

Natalie was exhausted. Even after a whole night of sleep, she was still tired and weak.

Leaning in Adrian's arms, she slowly closed her eyes. She wasn't really asleep, just resting with her eyes closed, but she could feel Adrian's fingers constantly touching her face. Sometimes he fixed her hair, sometimes he touched her eyelashes.

It tickled, and she grabbed his fingers.

Adrian chuckled softly.

With her eyes closed, she mumbled, "What's so funny?"

Adrian asked, "Do you know what you look like right now?"

She had no idea; she hadn't looked in the mirror. Did she look terrible with a fever and cold?

Judging by Adrian's expression, she couldn't figure it out. She imagined her eyes were swollen from crying so much last night and must look awful now.

She quickly covered her face, leaning against Adrian to keep him from seeing.

Adrian couldn't help but laugh at her reaction.

The more he laughed, the more embarrassed she got. "Stop laughing."

She wanted to get out of bed to see how bad she looked in the bathroom. But as soon as she sat up, Adrian pulled her back down, rolling over to pin her beneath him.

Adrian didn't think she looked ugly. To him, she was always beautiful. He cherished this lively side of her. She rarely showed her temper in front of him, always playing the perfect lover. It was rare to see her so vibrant now.

He couldn't resist teasing her.

"Let me see," he said, reaching to pull her hands away from her face as gently as possible.

He knew how delicate her skin was. A slight hard pinch would leave a red mark on her skin.

How could he bear to do that?

Adrian's movements were gentle, but she was holding her face tightly, afraid he would see.
