Chapter 225 She was Lost (Part 1)
Adrian strolled out and reached the rest area by the shore.
Alice stood up. "Adrian." She walked over and grabbed his arm. "Adrian, the pearls here are gorgeous. I just found a pink one." She showed off a string of pearl bracelets on her wrist. "Look, Adrian."
Adrian glanced at it, uninterested. "As long as you like it."
This whole sea area was dedicated to pearl farming. The Howard Group had developed it, monopolizing the pearl jewelry industry and making many people envious.
Colby walked over. "Adrian, did you find the 'treasure'?"
After a quick look at Adrian, Colby scanned the crowd but didn't see Natalie. "Adrian, weren't you with Natalie? Where is she?"
Hearing Natalie's name, Alice gritted her teeth. What? Adrian was in the jungle with Natalie? I knew Natalie had bad intentions. Natalie must have gone to great lengths to get close to Adrian!
"I don't know." Adrian remembered she was waiting inside to meet up with Daniel; it felt like a thorn was stuck in his throat.
"Where did she go?" Colby didn't see Natalie around.
A girl nearby said, "Natalie? Wasn't she with Mr. Murphy? In the jungle, Mr. Murphy kept saying he was looking for her."
Colby shook his head. "Mr. Murphy came out a long time ago."
Adrian's brow furrowed. "Daniel came out?"
Another girl in the rest area said, "Yeah, Stephanie, in Mr. Murphy's group, got bitten by a snake. They came out hours ago."
Adrian's face suddenly changed. He raised his hand and looked at his watch. It was now 5 PM. In the jungle, the trees blocked out the sky; it was already getting dark. Could Natalie still be inside? Damn it!
He pulled his hand away from Alice and strode forward. Seeing Adrian's face change, Colby instantly understood that Natalie was still inside and quickly followed. Alice kept calling, "Adrian, Adrian, where are you going?"
Adrian ignored Alice and said to Colby, "Contact Loren, gather all the manpower, and search for Natalie!"
Colby nodded. "Got it!"
Adrian grabbed a flashlight and headed into the jungle.
In the rest area, Alice stomped her foot, her face twisted with anger.
Diana didn't dare to make a sound. She exchanged a glance with Sandra, who gave her a look. Diana walked to Alice's side and tried to comfort her. "Alice, don't get angry. You're pregnant now!"
"That bitch! I knew it; she was hogging Mr. Murphy and now wants to seduce Adrian!" What really scared Alice was that Adrian seemed to really care about Natalie.
Diana said, "Alice, it doesn't matter. No matter how Natalie tries to seduce Mr. Howard, he only likes you. Just let Natalie make a fool of herself. How could Mr. Howard ever be interested in a lowly maid like her?"
Before Diana could finish, Alice interrupted, "You know nothing!" If Adrian found out the truth, she would be done.
Diana was stunned by the sudden outburst, and Sandra was also taken aback. Alice usually liked to show off and often boss them around, but she had never lost her temper like this!
At 6 PM in the jungle, night was falling.
Natalie dragged her tired legs. This jungle was bigger and deeper than she had imagined; the wind in the air carried a biting chill.
The temperature difference between day and night on Pearl Island was significant.
She used a flashlight to look at the road ahead, which was pitch black and seemed endless.
She looked at the night sky. Through the gaps in the branches, Natalie saw the stars and moonlight. Using the light from the night sky, Natalie tried to determine her current direction.
Every step she took seemed to lead her into unknown territory.
