Chapter 1425 You Just Got There First
"This was prepared for me by Natalie," the man said with a slight smile on his lips.
Andrea's face turned pale.
Her fingers clenched tightly.
Around her, the discussions grew louder, as if everyone was saying that the clothes she wore were fake.
This invisible humiliation made her feel so embarrassed that she wished she could disappear from the banquet hall immediately.
But at this moment, she could only steel herself and pretend not to hear anything.
After chatting for a bit, Adrian only gave brief responses to Andrea's questions.
Andrea watched as he occasionally leaned down to whisper to Natalie, her heart filled with jealousy.
"Natalie, it's so boring here. Why don't you come upstairs with me? I heard there's a chess room and card games upstairs—lots of fun places."
Andrea took the initiative to invite her, and Natalie didn't refuse. "Okay."
She said to Adrian, "I'll head up first then."
"Mm."
Seeing that Natalie was about to leave, Adrian raised his hand and touched her cheek. Natalie froze for a moment. She felt the man's fingertips brush across her face as he swept a strand of hair from her forehead and tucked it behind her ear. Natalie's cheeks flushed slightly.
The seemingly natural yet intimate gesture between the two.
Made Andrea's eyes turn red.
Natalie followed Andrea to the second floor. The second floor was a lounge area, with booth seating arranged along the railing. From this angle, one could clearly see the splendor of the banquet hall below.
Natalie sat down, and Andrea's lips curved into a smug smile.
She raised her eyes and signaled to a waiter nearby, who brought over a cup of coffee.
When Natalie picked it up to drink, she realized she couldn't have coffee right now and put it down.
Andrea watched her put down the coffee cup, nervously clenching her palms.
Had she discovered something?
Why wasn't she drinking it?
She took a sip of her coffee and said calmly, "I heard the coffee here is their specialty, tastes great—even better than professional coffee shops outside. Natalie, why don't you try it?"
Natalie shook her head. "Lately, I haven't really felt like drinking coffee."
She reached out and casually placed her hand on her abdomen.
Andrea beside her glanced up at the waiter. She had already made arrangements—nothing could go wrong here.
The waiter then brought over a glass of warm water.
Natalie was indeed a bit thirsty and took a sip.
She didn't notice the triumphant smile on Andrea's lips.
"Natalie, actually, I asked you to come up here alone because I have something to say to you." Andrea stopped pretending now. Her gaze fell on the man in the white suit downstairs in the banquet hall, noble and elegant. "You don't deserve to stand beside my Adrian."
Natalie sneered disdainfully. "I don't deserve him? And you do?"
Andrea's expression stiffened. She looked at Natalie. "Adrian and I grew up together, so naturally we're a good match. And Adrian has feelings for me—it's just that while I was in a coma, you got to him first. The bond between Adrian and me is something no one can shake. Believe it or not, even if I told Adrian that I was the one who leaked your medical records, he wouldn't blame me—he'd just scold me a bit at most."
"I trust my husband too, Andrea. Your attempts to drive a wedge between him and me are useless. If you were really that confident in yourself, you wouldn't be here saying all this to me." A faint smile appeared on Natalie's lips as she looked straight at Andrea. "Just like the clothes you're wearing—a fake is a fake. Even when you wear it, it has no real value."
