Chapter 945 Fake Marriage Certificate
Nicholas turned his head to the side, wiping the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. "Is that all you got?"
Bella yelled, "Nicholas, I'm Austin's wife!"
"Wife?" Nicholas scoffed, eyeing her. "Do you even know who you actually married?"
Bella's face went blank as she stared at him. "What are you talking about?"
'I married Austin! Of course, I went through the marriage stuff with him. But back then...' Bella remembered Austin being really sick, and it was Nicholas who drove her to get the marriage certificate. She just thought of Nicholas as Austin's brother.
Nicholas looked straight at her. "You married me! Not Austin!"
Bella's eyes went wide, and she couldn't believe it.
She was speechless for a moment, her face pale, lips trembling, totally shocked.
Nicholas thought back to when Cassidy set up the marriage for Austin. He and Austin had talked it over. Austin liked Bella and didn't want to mess up her life, knowing how sick he was. But they were both under Cassidy's thumb and couldn't say no.
So, Austin suggested he'd marry Bella in name, but Nicholas would actually marry her and handle the paperwork. After Austin died, Nicholas would either take care of Bella or divorce her and give her some money.
But Nicholas didn't expect to fall for Bella.
Bella clutched her chest, realizing her shirt buttons had been ripped open by Nicholas. She grabbed her clothes tightly, snapping out of her shock. "I don't believe you. My husband is Austin, not you!"
"If you don't believe me, I'll show you our marriage certificate," Nicholas said, standing up and heading upstairs.
Bella already knew it was true because Austin was always so gentle and kind.
But at their wedding night, after the lights went out, he was like a wild animal in bed. Every night after that, the lights were off.
It turned out it was Nicholas, and the baby in her belly was his too.
Bella didn't even bother putting on her shoes. She trotted to the door, thinking, 'Even if it's Nicholas, I still have the right to leave. I just want out now!'
But the door needed a password to open.
She tried a few times but kept getting it wrong.
Just then, Nicholas came down the stairs, his handsome face showing clear annoyance, like he knew she was trying to escape.
Seeing him, Bella leaned against the door, panicking. "Nicholas, even if what you say is true, even if we're married, it's still wrong. I wanted to marry Austin. I love Austin, and I want to be his wife!"
Nicholas clenched his fists. "You married me. You're my wife!"
"No!"
Nicholas took a few steps forward, and Bella tried to back away but had nowhere to go.
