Chapter 1181 Keep Up with His Pace
Adrian walked ahead.
Natalie limped behind him.
Adrian's pace was initially very fast, and Natalie couldn't keep up.
Seeing the distance between them grow, she wiped the sweat from her forehead. What did Adrian eat to grow so tall? With his long legs, one step for him was almost two for her.
Adrian gradually slowed his pace.
When they reached the car, he opened the door, and Natalie sat in the back seat.
Adrian handed her the medicine, and Natalie took it.
Adrian closed the car door.
"Did you see that girl just now?" Natalie's voice was a bit hoarse. "A car accident, and her parents and younger brother were all sent to the emergency room. She's so young and has to go through this."
Adrian's lips pressed together slightly. "In this world, such unfortunate things happen every day."
Natalie looked at him, silent for a long time.
The car drove all the way to the Howard mansion, and neither of them spoke again.
After the car stopped, Natalie got out, stepping down carefully.
She tightly gripped her hand, realizing she was still holding the cup of coffee, which had already gone cold.
Just as she was about to throw the coffee into the trash can by the door, a slender hand took it. "My coffee."
Natalie said, "I thought you weren't going to drink it."
"When did I say that?"
"When I offered it to you in the car, you didn't take it."
"I was driving, not convenient to drink coffee. Taking you to the hospital to get your medicine, even less convenient. Driving back for half an hour, still not convenient."
Natalie tugged at her lips. 'Your excuses are perfect. Can't argue with you.'
Adrian took a sip. It was cold, but still had a fragrant aroma.
Violette heard the sound of the car engine and came to the door. "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard, you're back."
Adrian walked into the living room first.
Natalie limped forward, and Violette quickly came over to support her. "Mrs. Howard, what happened? Did you hurt your foot? Take it slow."
Natalie smiled. "It's not serious, just a sprain."
Violette helped her to the bedroom and found some ice for her to apply. "Mrs. Howard, I'll head downstairs. Call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
Natalie lay on the bed alone, reading a book for a while, when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.
Natalie tiptoed over to open it and found Adrian standing at the door.
Adrian had just finished showering, wearing only a gray bath towel around his waist, revealing a muscular upper body comparable to a male model.
Natalie's face instantly blushed.
Even though Natalie was married to Adrian, anyone would be nervous and blush seeing such a handsome and perfectly built man.
"Your clothes."
Natalie took them, realizing they were the clothes she wore the night she got drunk. She hugged them. "Thank you."
Not just for the clothes, but also for taking her to the hospital tonight.
Adrian didn't leave after delivering the clothes but stood at the door. "Everyone has their own difficulties to face. The girl you mentioned, maybe her family will wake up, and the dark clouds in her life will pass."
"Or maybe her family will leave, and she will have to accept a new life. I know you might think I'm a heartless person, but that's the fate that girl can't escape. We can only hope for a miracle."
